All In Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Is there anyone out there that the Reds can go after by trading a pitcher or prospects? Should never have got rid of Dunn and desperately need power.
John Anthony Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 A legit power hitter its gonna take probably an Arroyo. For a free swinging power hitter maybe Bailey or a prospect.
SSC Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 A legit power hitter its gonna take probably an Arroyo. For a free swinging power hitter maybe Bailey or a prospect. Arroyo makes too much money. It will take Bailey plus something for a legit power hitter.
HammerTime Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Wait till the FA makert next year and get Matt Holiday.
Baseballguy Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 A gold glove second basemen????? Yeah, it would be impossible to win a World Series without a gold glove 2nd baseman.
ColonelCrazy Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Wait till the FA makert next year and get Matt Holiday. Holliday is only hitting .253 thus far for the A's. I'm not sure he's the answer, although he'd definitely be an upgrade. I wonder how interest a Edwin & Homer Bailey package would muster?
stick1 Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Hollidays park hurts his numbers just liked they helped them in Colo IMO.
buzzer beater Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 What I would do.. Ship Edwin, Homer, another solid prospect in the minors, and Dickerson to Houston Try and get Carlos Lee and an average prospect. 4 players for 2, that would be a huge addition to this team. I also know there is no way it happens, but can't I use my imagination?
LCPATS Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Is there anyone out there that the Reds can go after by trading a pitcher or prospects? Should never have got rid of Dunn and desperately need power. They had to get rid of Dunn, he was going to be owed way too much if they he stayed a Red. Once he hit FA, it was obvious that he wasn't worth that kind of money, and he settled for far less. If the Reds could of got him for what the Nats are paying him he would be nice to have, but he was not worth what he was going to make if he stayed a Red last year. Holiday is the obvious guy out there, he is stuggling in that big park in Oakland. Most knew he had ridiculous home/away splits. He did the majority of his damage in Colorado. GABP is similar, I think he could do a lot of damage in between Votto and Bruce.
AverageJoesGym Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Yeah, it would be impossible to win a World Series without a gold glove 2nd baseman. Are you suggesting that one trade for one player would make the Reds World Series contenders?
saint4 Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Wait till the FA makert next year and get Matt Holiday. I agree.
Baseballguy Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Are you suggesting that one trade for one player would make the Reds World Series contenders? Not at all. I'm saying there have been plenty Teams win a World Series without a gold glove 2nd baseman. When BP's name is brought up about possible trades, some seem to think he's untouchable because of his gold glove.
