Arroyo, and try and get someone like Jason Bay.

Ronnie Belliard got the majority of time at 2nd in the playoffs but Miles was the primary 2nd baseman during the season. He appeared in 88 games, with 71 starts, at 2nd.

I wouldn't call 71 starts a primary starter.

It was 18 more than Belliard had, and the most on the team at 2nd.

Why I won't trade Homer Bailey:

2005 Age 21 5-17 5.80 ERA 1.563 WHIP

Zack Greinke

Belliard was not there the whole season. Once he got there he started the majority of the games.

Just to throw another name out there... What about Andruw Jones. He looks as though his swing is back. He could play left field and bat in the 4 spot at GABP.

If the Reds were interested in Jones, I think they would've made a push to get him in the offseason, once he was released.

I don't want to trade Homer Bailey (who is still 22 or 23) for a hitter unless he's proven & will stick around for a few years.

Could you imagine the outcry if the Reds traded Bailey and he became a dominant starter? All of those who have been riding Homer over the past few years would then tell us how stupid it was to trade him.

Jason Bay is the first one that sticks out in my mind but I would imagine Boston will try to resign him.

Now that he has shown that he can handle to media scrutiny in Boston I can't imagine the Red Sox not doing everything possible to resign him.

I don't think anyone accept for Texas was interested in Jones this off season. Because he had lost his swing and his confidence. Now that he is back I think the Reds would be interested as will several teams if he stays healthy.

No chance the Reds get a player like Jason Bay for Arroyo. Need to go down a notch or two for him. Arroyo is a 3rd starter at best in any rotation even when he is going right. Bay is a potential all-star every year even when he was in Pittsburg. I don't think Boston would be willing to give that up for what would be their 4th or 5th starter in their rotation.

I think he meant someone of Jason Bay's caliber and not Jason Bay. The Red Sox have no need for Arroyo right now. When Dice-K comes back they'll have 6 starters on the roster and will move Masterson back to the bullpen. They also have Buchholz and Bowden nearly ready in the minors and Smoltz hopefully ready by mid-June.

To contend a move has to be made.

Propose a feesable move...

There just isn't one right now unless we give up some young pitchers which I am not willing to do. Keep building from within. There are some big bats on the way!

The Reds have a great young nucleus. I think you have to have some faith in the direction they are going. Votto, Bruce, Cuetto, Volsquaez, Phillips is a pretty nice young group IMO. If you are in contention at the break then make a move but if not I think they are better off not hitting the panic button and getting a free agent. I wished they would have signed Manny this off season. Could you imagine a lineup starting up with Taveres, Phillips, Bruce/Votto/Manny....WoW! Plus he is hitting in Dodgers Stadium which is nothing like The GABP!
