Track the Reds (Week 3)

Featured Replies

Career record of 93-75 over 11 seasons with a 4.40 ERA. Pretty darned ho-hum to me.

To be fair, he's a classic example of a thrower who has learned how to pitch the last couple of seasons. He's 32-17 with 358 strikeouts in 411.2 innings over the last 2 years--that's far, far above average. With is 2-0 start this season he's got a .667 winning percentage over his last 51 decisions. Those aren't journeyman numbers.

How much time do you want to give him? I've heard he's only 23, he's only 24, he's only 25. It's time to step up, and start producing on a consistent basis.

The same was said about Adrain Beltre before he had his 52 homer year. Not saying he will do that but the potential is there for him hit .280 with 30 bombs. I agree though, his time has to be running up, but lets remember there are still 140+ games left.

Um no that was called steroids. And the most he ever hit was 48 anyway.

Looks like Jay is coming around. Nice piece of hitting there with the opposite field HR.

Yeah, let's give up on a guy who's only 26....
Rosales is only four months younger than Encarnacion ... it isn't like he's a spring chicken, either.

Yeah, so let's bring up a guy that's 26 and has a grand total of around 30 career ABs....That would really solve the problem. Let's just make a move to make a move....No thanks.

Rosales is 25, and it wouldn't be making a move just to make a move. It would be making a move to bring more offense to the team. He would merely be a bridge to Juan Francisco. Either way, Encarnacion's days as a Red are numbered.

Look at that Dusty, shake things up a little bit and things start to happen.

Take the pressure off BP and look what he does. Wasn't he in the 7 whole for his best season as a Red?

For his career his best numbers are actually as the 4th hitter.

I think Phillips is better suited for the 2 hole hitting in front of Votto. Actually my lineup would look like this.

Taveras

Phillips

Bruce

Votto

Encarnacion

Dickerson

Hernandez

Gonzalez

You're right, Rosales has proven he'd be an offensive upgrade over Edwin. Duh, what was I thinking....Heck, why don't we just bring up Francisco now. That way when he's 22 we can give up on him too.
