And I guess if you knew any of the history about the guy who wrote the song, you'd maybe appreciate it a little more. I've never met a single Cub fan who didn't like the song, nor have I met a non-Cub fan who liked it.

:thumb: They're facing a team with good balance in this series. The Cubs have good pitching and hitting--last night you could tell that the Reds were facing a signifigant upgrade in competition.

I agree, they want to compete for the division and they may have the pitching to compete w/ the Cubs, but their lineup isn't close. They need a right handed bat in the 4 hole so bad it's not even funny. I wonder if they could afford Miguel Cabrera and what Detroit would want for him.

How about Bailey and either Volquez or Cueto, for starters? Maybe all three ...

With the economy being what it is there is a very good chance that there will be several veterans available after the first couple of months at discounted trade value--the question will be if the Reds (or others) will be willing to take on additional payroll--especially if the players still have 2-3 years remaining on their contracts.
