April 22, 200917 yr Dusty said he thinks of it as having an extra lead off hitter at the bottom of the order. That is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. He's nothing like another lead off hitter. He's got more power than most of the rest of the lineup and he isn't exactly fast. So if he gets a single he slows down the 1 and 2 hitters. If he would have said I want him to concentrate on pitching and not driving in runs I'd listen and be upset. Now I just think he's dumb.
