Track the Reds (Week 3)

Featured Replies

How about Bailey and either Volquez or Cueto, for starters? Maybe all three ...

You'd give all 3? Or they'd want all 3?

I'm saying that could be Detroit's asking price ...

No Thanks.

Pitching is the key to this team. Miguel Cabrera would be a nice addition, but not at the expense of giving up Volquez or Cueto.

I'd be willing to trade Arroyo, Bailey or Owings. That's about the only three in the starting rotation I'd consider trading. And obviously none of them will yield Cabrera in return.

Detroit is not going to trade Cabrera. He's the face of their franchise now.

There is some talk throughout baseball that as hard-hit as Detroit has been by the economy, that the Tigers may be of a mind to start cutting payroll.

If I'm Detroit, I would never say never, but it would have to be a steep price to make the deal.

Cueto v. Lilly tonight?

Other than Phillips 1-19, the Reds hitters have had some pretty good success against Lilly. Last year Lilly was 0-4 against the Reds with a 8.15 ERA. On the flip side, the Cubs have had pretty good success against Cueto. Last year against the Cubs, Cueto was 1-3 with a 4.68 ERA. Something has to give, I'll take the Reds in this one though.

We are destroying Phillips at clean up. Put E-5 there move Phillips to 2nd and drop the left fielder down.

Lilly stunk up the joint at WBC, IMO.

This isn't the WBC

Lilly is usually tough on the Reds from what I can remember.

He's been tough to hit so far winning both his prior starts and he took a no-no into the 7th in his last outing

I know! :thumb:

Well, I figured that. It was for the benefit of the rest of us, since you hadn't actually named him. :D
