I've been waiting for almost 2 weeks to see this announced and posted and it was finally confirmed on the Trinity website today.

 

The Trinity-- St. X game has been rescheduled again to:

 

SATURDAY, October 3, 2009 at 6:00 pm at Papa John Stadium.

 

The reason I was aware of it was because our reunion was originally scheduled for the Friday night date before it was first changed.

This is good news! I wonder what motivated them to move it to Saturday? Attendance, CSAA, alumni or a combination?

This is all because of a Friday night Louisville game, correct? And the original date was to be Sunday?

I like Saturday better than Sunday....but I'm not following how the reunion presented a conflict for Sunday.

Yes, ESPN dictated that Louisville's game -vs- Pitt was to be Friday night, they get first right of refusal.

I am not giving an official answer, but will give it my best assumption. The Trinity/X weekend hosts the class that is celebrating their 50th reunion. A lot of these great men come in from out of town, and leave on Sunday, I am sure that came into play.

I like this better than Sunday afternoon. We can spend the afternoon tailgating and then enjoy the game. I also have family coming in to see the game and they were going to have to wait until Monday to fly out. Good move.

Has it been 40 years already? It's a great feeling knowing that our Class of 1969 brought more the first of our 19 trophies!!!!!! We started the tradition. Makes us kind of proud.

U of L is in the national championship basketball game:cool:(women :confused:) and the UK-Bama game cannot stand in the way of Trinity and St. Xavier.

I believe the CSAA schedule maker may have had more of an influence that we were told publicly! :lol:

I am very happy and thankful the "decision makers" at both schools got togther on this one and worked it out. Hated to miss some top flight CSAA competition on Sunday afternoon.

 

I still think (as someone posted earlier) we would have OUTDRAWN UofL had we gone head-2-head.:clap:

I wished they had been playing on Sat for a long time now. I've never been to a St X T game mostly because I'd rather watch my own team play. I wouldn't at all be suprised (depending on the weather) if the game doesn't draw enough to sell out.

This stinks for UK fans! One way or the other you will have to miss a great game. I will most likely go to the UK game because I expect that there will be a rematch of St.X vs. T.
