The make up of a footbal player and team changes dramatically from Freshman football to JV as Sophomores, Juniors and to that Senior season. What I said is Trinity's system allows kids to continue to play in games and gain experience as Juniors instead of just using them for mop up duty in Varsity games their Junior year. That has been the biggest difference between T & X from my viewpoint. If you are basing your prediction for this season off of what happened with these kids two or three years ago, you obviously have never played the game.

In all seriousness though, I will pull for the Rocks in this upcoming game with all of my heart. I am just not sure this team has it. I know we just played 2 of the best teams in the tri-state area, but injuries are a problem AND the fact that I am just not sure that they have the heart of a Rock Squad this year.

 

That may sound harsh, I know but I just haven't seen it yet.

You are the third or so person that I have heard question/make a statement about the "heart of this team." I have a hard time believing any T team not having heart. Do people have this opinion because of their record at this time?

Coaching we have as long as Beatty and Co. are there. Heart depends greatly on the senior leadership, which with this squad really isn't there. If the juniors can step up there is potential. This team may well end up like the 2004 team, which had chemistry issues.

It isn't because of the record, it is because of the intensity they have exhibited so far. I know that X and Elder would have beaten us no matter the situation, but the LN loss and even the Manual win didn't leave me terribly impressed with their intensity and dedication.

 

Again, I know there is tons of fire in the juniors on down, but the seniors have to step up. Next year will be a good year I know that, but unless someone on this team really steps up then I don't know how far they can go.
