April 1, 200917 yr I stated many many times that his longest tenure anywhere in his 30 year career was 3 years. I got blasted for saying this, now that everything is out in the open and everything I've been saying for a year has turned out to be 100% true, anyone still care to defend him? Just curious.....
April 1, 200917 yr I still think to this moment that Coach Gillispie was treated unfairly and should have been given at least another year or two to get everything running and to get his system and players implemented. His time was cut short and he was run out of town before he could even get to do that. I do think Calipari is the better coach and I'm glad we have him now! I just think that Gillispie should have been been more time.
April 1, 200917 yr I really don't see anyone doing that right now, NCC. BBIL, what would he (BCG) accomplish next year? Most of his talented players would have left if he stayed.....
April 1, 200917 yr Don't hurt yourself patting your own back . It's something 98 loves to do. Aren't you the guy that said we shouldn't get rid of him too 98?

April 1, 200917 yr So I guess this means that player abuse by the coach is OK? He was a nut case and that's why he was fired. He was hard on his players as he put them through rigorous practices and practices on game days. Some players like Patterson, Meeks and Harris seemed to like Gillispie. I'm still waiting on the supposed players that would be leaving if Gillispie stayed.

I thought that BCG should have gotten 1 more year, ... but, ... the more I hear about other issues with him, this move had to be made. 98NCCalum was right when he called this hire a bad hire from the beginning.
April 1, 200917 yr BCG may not have been the best coach, but I think any human being should be treated with more dignity than to be chased by a reporter right after he has been officially fired. That was embarrassing to say the least. But, on the other hand, as I have said ALL ALONG.....Calipari is the best coach in the country and I'm very glad that he is at UK.

Meeks was no where close to liking Billy G. Half the players would have transferred, IMO...

Maybe BCG should have treated people with respect. Heard that old saying what goes around comes around.
