Had a question I was hoping someone could help me out with. I wont be able to make it to the state tourney games until saturday morning for the semi's and final, and I was wondering if I could still get good, lower level tickets buying them when I get there, or if I should pre-order them now and have them sent to me?

Just curious, because I don't want to get to Lexington Saturday morning around 9 and get tickets where I have to bring a pair of binoculars to watch. Someone help me out please!

Buy them as soon as you can.

Thanks, I figured that would be the smart approach, but didn't know if I could get away with buying them when I got their!

I just ordered mine a couple of days ago and the best we could get were lower level behind the goals. Not bad, but that's best available for Saturday as of Wednesday. I would order them if they got them if you don't want to press your luck with opportunistic ticket sellers.

Also as of Wednesday, no lower level seating available through Ticketmaster for the Thursday night session. I have lower level tickets for every session I am attending except for the Thursday night session in which me and my people are going to try our luck outside of Rupp one block away. We will be there for the Thursday night session one way or another.

I think whichever team makes it out of the bottom bracket be it Elliott County, Holmes, Shelby Valley, LexCath, Bowling Green, Anderson County, Christian County, or Mason County will be the state champ. I think the tough road will have whichever team emerges battle tested and also have the crowd behind them because of the tough games that bracket will bring every night. Personally, I want Bowling Green to win it all. If that can't happen, then I will root for the bottom bracket in this order

Elliott County-Gotta love them. I haven't seen them, but I look forward to watching them and it obviously would be a great story.

Holmes-I have a tremendous amount of respect for Eta and tezzy and I know how much it would mean to them for Holmes to finally bring it home. I would like to see Holmes win for those two guys and all the other Holmes fans who staunchly defend the 9th region champs.

West Jessamine-I know they are underdogs in the upper bracket, but they are the 12th region champ and they have Jarrod Polson who I tremendously enjoyed watching play. West Jessamine also had a recent tragedy and could use a great weekend in Lexington.

Anderson County-I live in Boyle County and, let's just say that I am in Lawrenceburg a lot.

Shelby Valley-I only know that they beat Elliott County and could be a feel good story we haven't heard about yet.

Mason County-With all due respect, I'd like to crown a new champ.

Christian County-Sorry. Good luck.

LexCath-You can't seriously think that a guy who graduated from Bowling Green and lives in Boyle County wants to see you add to your collection do you? Haven't you guys caused enough pain in my life? I do like Jaylen Beckham though. I like Vee Sanford also. I like that feeling of Duke(I am a Duke fan) that you guys bring to the table every game you play. I like your 2-2-1 press. I like your black uniforms also. I respect you guys, really, I do, but my loyalties to my alma mater and my son's school will not allow me to root for you. See you Thursday.

In any other normal year, SV is the object of the state's current Elliott love-fest. I kind of feel for those guys because of it -- especially when you consider they beat EC handily.

Holmes. They know whats goin on down there. If only Rz. Henderson was still here that would be great. They came up short last year but this year they have what it takes to win. Not saying they didnt have it last year but they are more togather this year as a team and I think they will bring one back. Go Bulldogs.

EC had a shot to tie at the buzzer. I wouldn't say they were beaten handily.

How is winning by 3, beating someone handily?

Eastern is my pick. I think they have an easier path to Saturday night than does Holmes, Mason, Shelby Valley, Elliott, or Catholic.

Mine too for the same reasons you stated. Not who I would hope to win, but I think they will.

Elliot County is a great basketball team, but there is one problem. This team does not have a deep enough bench to survive 4 games in 4 days. If good shooters do not have their legs under them, then their shot is greatly affected. I for one would love to see Elliot cut down the nets. I just think that bench play and fresh legs are crucial in advancing and winning the hardware on Saturday Night.

Having seen Elliott County play several games, I am going to have to disagree with your point regarding their stamina. This is the most conditioned group I have ever seen! I may be wrong, but they will not get beat due to dead legs.

I've seen the Elliot County boys play 3-4 games in a day, 4 games over

4 days will be pretty boring for them, my guess is they will be looking for pickup games over at UK in between games

:clap::ylsuper:

I'd have to agree with Shooter. I saw them play the same number of games this summer in AAU Ball. When do they get tired would be the question?? Maybe if they played over 8 games in 2 days?? The question that more concerns me regarding depth is not fatigue, but foul problems. But, they have pretty much kept away from it all year except a few occasions where T. Knipp has to sit after picking up 2 quick ones early. T. Knipp has to play smart and stay away from foul trouble. He is the X factor for Elliott. He cannot get in foul trouble and sit extensive minutes in Rupp.

I like Eastern...very impressed by all the quality wins...

Even the most conditioned team can suffer from fatigue. Mason County in 2004 was an extremely well conditioned basketball team, but three overtime periods in two days took a major toll on them during the finals against Warren Central. Let's hope Elliott doesn't run into this same type of situation. If so, believe me, they will get fatigued.

I wish Elliott County plenty of Luck. If Mason is eliminated, I will be cheering for Elliott to take home the trophy. They are a scrappy bunch of young men who deserve a championship.:thumb:

Shelby Valley. I picked them in November and I am sticking with them. I am from NKY and I didn't drink the Holmes cool aid. They have experienced gaurds and a good big man. They don't depend on one thing to win. I think they can win ugly like Holmes or run with EC.

My second pick is Holmes, I might have drank a little bit of it

Elliott plays no where near the defense of Holmes and that's evident by their scores. Elliott gives up almost 60 ppg.

Holmes on the year is giving up just 46 ppg and throughout the postseason are only giving up an average of 34 ppg.

Elliott will have to play defense if they want to beat a team like Holmes. They won't be able to run and gun against them and Holmes won't press which will force them to run half court offense which isn't their strength against teams with good size. (See Cedar Hill and Shelby Valley)

I think in the end, once again, no inside game will cost Elliott. Every time they lose all I hear is, Elliott had an off night shooting. With no inside game, there is no time for an off night. I just don't think Elliott can shoot well enough for that many games to win it all. And without that inside game, it will cost them in the end. :thumb:
