Mason Co. came out on a 33-2 run and never looked back.

I said Mason by 18, but the way they came out and put Brossart down right away is not a good sign for the rest of the teams in the tourney, especially Montgomery County.

Good win for the Royals. Hope to make the rest of the tournament.

The bright side is Brossart outscored the Royals 33 -25 after the 33-2 run. :idunno:

It was a pretty ugly game. Hate for the Seniors to go out in a game like that.

Brossart was out matched strength wise, height wise and talent wise at just about every position maybe other than that of Jake Reiger's spot. I didn't watch or listen to the game, however I would have said it would be close or it would be a Mason Co win by a lot.

 

These Mustangs play with a lot of heart, as do all Mustangs, its just in the blood there at Brossart. I wish the best for the seniors. Bsaeball season is right on top of you guys. No break there, go get them.

 

As far as Mason Co. goes, that is a top notch program. They always win/lose with class. I have nothing bad against Mason Co and wish them well in Region 10.

 

One thing is for sure. Who ever comes out of the 10th, I'll be pulling for.

Congrats Royals we need that kind of intensity that started the game from here on out,Mason played a lot of young subs in the 3rd and most all 4th quarter also.One game down 6 more to go to finish what you started.Congrats to Brossart on a fine season when most thought Campbell and Scott would come from the 37th district you guys found a way.Should be fun Monday night as well on to the semis.

The BOK was a 1st class basketball facility all the way,I think the atmosphere will get much better on Monday night.The drive up and back was glorious with the 70 degree temps.

Not much I can add to this thread. 24-2 after one quarter, lots of PT for everyone. The combination of Mason County's size and quickness was lethal this afternoon.

 

Congrats to Brossart on a nice season; lots of folks didn't think you would even make it to the tourney.

 

On to Monday night for the Royals!

If Mason Co plays the way they did in the 1st Quarter no team in the Region or state will beat them.

Very Ugly.

Very stunning performance by both the Royals and our Mustangs.

 

We were simply overwhelmed in the first half, and shocked to find ourselves trailing 33-2 at one point. While we are certainly not proud of that performance on either end of the court, what is, is. Hats off to Coach O'Hearn and his Royals who might just be peaking at the right time.

 

In my opinion the Royals have continued to improve on a game-to-game basis and today the "perfect storm" of circumstances came together on the grand stage at NKU and the Mustangs, who might have earned the respect of the Royals from our performance back on February 17th, were the victims of a team on a mission, utilizing all of their tools to completly execute and annihilate their challengers, who were unable to get into any semblance of offense in the first half, while dissecting the Mustang defense to simply run away and hide.

 

It will be interesting to see if the Royals come close to duplicating this effort against the Montgomery County Indians on Monday night.

 

Our Mustangs had their moments this season and will live to remember the good times as the memory of this devestating loss fades into the past.
