March 19, 200917 yr Megan has got to go I know she was sick and all but even when she did Rock N Robin it was horrible!
March 19, 200917 yr If it were simply a question of talent and not upto voters, the girl that got canned tonite would still be there if I was the judge. I'd have removed either the big guy who sang Garth Brooks or the blind guy.
March 19, 200917 yr IMVHO watching American Idol or for that matter any show like that is a colossal waste of time !!
March 19, 200917 yr Underwood has a phenomenal voice. She gave me chills as well. Even Randy Travis had this expression on his face sitting next to her like 'Wow'. Adam has a great voice, but his rendition of Ring Of Fire was horrible. Yes he has a tremendous voice, but he was all over the board on that song and absolutely ruined the melody of the song. That was not a good song to show a vocal range and he tried to force it.
March 19, 200917 yr I thought RT didn't look well. Anyone know if he is battling any kind of health issues?

I agree that Adam has done well in past shows, but his version of "Ring of Fire" probably had Johnny Cash rolling over in his grave. I agree with Simon, it was awful. :puke:

I agree with Simon, it was awful. :puke:Absolutely! To me, he bypassed the rules by completely ignoring everything that defines country music. You can't simply use the lyrics from a country song and call it country music. Brushing aside the genre as if it isn't worthy of him, just shows his arrogance.

You can't simply use the lyrics from a country song and call it country music. Brushing aside the genre as if it isn't worthy of him, just shows his arrogance. Others have done varied versions of country songs before and often, changed it quite a bit (Daughtry's version of 'I walk the line', very similar to Live's version of it, etc). However, they didn't change the melody to an unrecognizable trainwreck just to show off their vocal gymnastics. That was the problem I had with it. I have really liked Adam until that performance. I also can't see Cash liking that rendition. Adam destroyed the melody which made it hard to listen to.
March 19, 200917 yr Living !!! Some would say that posting on a website is a colossel waste of time, compared to living. (I am not one of those people.) Some would say posting in threads you don't care about is a colossel waste of time.
