April 8, 200917 yr Is it possible to suggest to not suggest that the only possible reason a person like him could be doing well is out of sheer pity? Gee, maybe it has something to do with the fact that people don't think he's all that bad; there's a novel concept! :eek: He's not the best, but he's not as ridiculously bad as a couple of you have painted him to be. Considering he is probably the worst singer to be around at this point in the competition this is a hard concept for me to grasp. Btw, I thought he was decent last week...but still wasn't near on the level of the rest of the field.
April 8, 200917 yr Adam is so good he's in the three way race twice? Pretty im pressive Anyway, Danny is still my favorite, and I thought he did a great job last night. Scott is overdue and needs to leave this week. He is absolutely awful and it irks me how he is always right and always has to get the last word in. oops, should have been Adam, Allyson, and Danny.
April 8, 200917 yr Scott has to got tonight. I think the talent is way down this time. There are a few good singers but there are a few that are terrible as well.

April 9, 200917 yr It was Scott's time, but I think what he accomplished was really impressive. And that's, at least in part, why I've been so strongly advocating for him through this. He deserved to get as far as he did, despite the antiquated biases of some. Disabled people don't want, or need sympathy; they sure as heck don't need pity. They're people, just like you, and all they want is to be treated like everyone else. Their disability shouldn't enter into any discussion regarding talent, work ethic, or reliability. Their accomplishments should never be cheapened by suggesting they were given anything out of sympathy. Whatever Scott does next, I'm sure he'll be successful at it. He's willing to work harder than the next guy and take the risk of putting himself out there despite what anyone thinks of him. :thumb:

I have an antiquated bias against karoake singers . Get off your soapbox. People didnt like him because, relatively speaking, he was a minor-leaguer. It had nothing to do with his blindness and only those looking to make excuses would think otherwise.

This is the kind of attitude that people with diabilities find so incredibly frustrating. If people didn't like him, he wouldn't have been there. And anything you can say about him can and should be said about ALL of the contestants. I'm sure you'll come back with the same points, but it won't change the truth of the matter.

Sorry if it offends you, but it's a fact. Anyways, he is finally gone and the competition can move on with talented singers. As much as I hate to admit it, I agree. That is the mentality of people who are trying so hard to overlook the obvious. They are trying to over look his visual impairment by saying what a great job has done. While I do admire his talent (I wish I had some of it), he was just not as good as the others. This also brings me to Anoop. He is one of the better singers in the competition (if he would pick the right songs). But he has consistantly been in the bottom of votes because of his Middle East looks. This may not be PC, but it is the truth. He does not look like an "American" Idol. Some people benefit from the voting, while others suffer.
