February 7, 200917 yr Why didn't we know about this sooner if he tested positive years ago? Agreement between the player's union and MLB to keep all the tests quiet. Exactly why it became such a problem - no one REALLY wanted it cleared up. Baseball was happy with all the HR's and the increasing fan interest.

February 7, 200917 yr To me this just solidifies Ken Griffey, Jr. and his stats even more. We all know what injuries have done to him and his pursuit of 700 HR's. Had he taken steroids what would his numbers have been considering what he has done without them. I will not be one bit surprised if this story about A-Rod is correct and accurate and not just a report.

February 7, 200917 yr This makes perfect sense, look how small he was in Seattle now look how big he is. His last year in Seattle was over 8 years ago. Do you really expect any athlete to remain the same size for 8 years regardless if they are using or not?

February 7, 200917 yr Pujols is a really big man too. If ARod did them I wouldn't be suprised by anybody. You would think by body types guys like Jeter+Griff didn't do them but we'll never know I don't suppose. I would like to think they didn't. Isn't one of the side effects after you get off them more injury prone?

February 8, 200917 yr You know for a fact he never used? Hard to say with any certainty about anyone anymore. I never liked Griffey - mainly because his trade ended up killing the Reds - but you can say this about him - we've constantly heard accusations/rumors/suspicions about a lot of players, even including A-Rod. There have been a lot of people on the "inside" - i.e., Radomski, McNamee, Conseco, and others - who have named specific names. Some of those names have been borne out to be true or certainly seem to be. But, as far as I know, not one single person has ever alleged or even insinuated that Griffey used. In today's age when everybody is willing to point fingers at everybody else, I do think it says something that NO ONE has ever pointed a finger at Griffey.
