January 29, 200917 yr With a driveway about 1/4 mile long, ain't shoveling that. Farmer that lives down the road, scraped it for us. Tomorrow, the boy and I are going to shovel the walkway, cars out and a path for the mailperson to get to the mailbox.
January 29, 200917 yr Took about an hour or so to clean off my car. I had to go back in to defrost. I anticipate about another hour or so tomorrow shoveling around my car so I can get out of the parking space.
January 29, 200917 yr About 3 hours each day if not four. Deep drive ways are the worst. And ya know its hard to watch old people do it so you have to go over and help, so before you know it the days gone and all you have to show for it is a few gallons of sweat.:lol:
January 29, 200917 yr Total of 8 hours- 4 hours yesterday & 4 today plus I shoveled a sidewalk and got a couple of elderly folks mail & paper for them. I think what made this snow so tough was all the rain on top which made the shovel full heavy. I have a deep driveway, so I know what you mean HCFan1.
January 29, 200917 yr I did three driveways yesterday and it only took me about an hour, but I cheated and used a tractor. I will have to redue them all tomorrow, snow and ice covered them back up last night and today.

January 29, 200917 yr Probably 2 hours today, and now this old body is feeling it! My husband did the 'heavy' stuff, but I was doing the walk and diggin out 4 of the 5 cars in the drive. They were all iced shut, so I couldn't even get it to run the defrost for awhile! They are clean now, and I hope we can get out tomorrow morning in a timely manner, as I hear that we will all be returning to school and work.
January 29, 200917 yr About and hour and a half yesterday. Was on Advil yesterday afternoon for my sore back. Was happy to have to work today to miss the shovel detail.
January 29, 200917 yr It took my wife 25 minutes to shovel the walk from our front door to the end of the sidewalk. She is a machine, love her to death. That was today, yesterday it took her about an hour.

January 29, 200917 yr My son (11) and a buddy made over $90 starting around 3PM, they plan going out earlier tomorrow. I watched from a window. :popcorn:
January 29, 200917 yr Between shoveling and cleaning off the cars, somewhere around 3 hours. And I still haven't driven anywhere.
January 29, 200917 yr I spent a little over an hour today with the snow blower doing the driveway and walkway. I did it on my lunch hour, since I can work from home during this stuff. I would've helped the neighbors, but everyone got up this morning and cleared their driveways while I was inside working.
January 29, 200917 yr Not worried about the snow..it is huge tree limbs. Too dangerous to try and cut them up today with more limbs falling. Hope to try and get some cut up tomorrow...then we will address the snow. It will take a week or more to get our yard cleaned up. We have to get a trailer in to haul off the limbs. We are lucky we have electricity, all of the houses on the other side of the street have been without power for over 24 hours.
