Reoccurring Dreams

Featured Replies

I have just gotten my college report card and realized that I did not show up for a class the entire semester and flunked.
I have a variation on this one all the time.

For me, it's high school. The usual scenario is that I'm about to take a test, and I have no clue what the answers are. Sometimes I don't have a pencil, or paper...or neither. Then, I can't read the questions, and when I write it doesn't make sense. (Gee, I think it's a dream.)

In another scenario, I'm wandering the halls and can't remember my class schedule. I also, at some point, realize that I've skipped class all year and the year is almost over.

Sometimes, all of these things happen in the same dream. I've had these as long as I can remember. Maybe it's because, to some extent, these things actually happened.

In the words of Barney Fife (to Otis), "Boy, I hate to think what you just revealed about yourself!"

I have had many. I used to have nightmares when I was younger but haven't had one in a long time knock on wood. I can't tell you how many times I have had the dream that they have asked me to come back and play one more game of football for my old school. Usually I wake up right before the game starts. I'm always mad when I wake up because I wanted to get my roll on:)

I wear a mask that fits over my nose and mouth. Some setups just have a nose piece, though. I don't like those.
It's great for whistling.

One other weird dream I've had is when a nuclear explosion goes off, really freaky the dreams I've had about that.

I had this one a lot during the cold war days. Itwould be a really good dream where I'm having a lot of fun, then suddenly, there would be reports of a nuclear war starting, or I'd see missiles, or whatever. I hated those dreams, but don't have them as much anymore. (Probably will tonight...:ohbrother:)
I have two and get them frequently:

1) I have just gotten my college report card and realized that I did not show up for a class the entire semester and flunked.

2) I am in some type of confrontation in which I have to pull my weapon and do not have the strength to pull the trigger and am killed.

Have had them for years and years and assume I'll just have them forever.

I've had so many different re-occuring dreams that I almost forget them till I have them again.

My worse two w/o getting into the specifics and details are:

1. Attending college and forgetting to attend a particular class and flunking school.

2. I'm in a football game and can barely run, my body feels un-mobilized and I can barely run, I feel awful during that dream because I know I can run but I can't get anywhere.

Wow you're guys' two dreams seem similar.

Freud would have had a field day talking to the two of you together.

I have very random and strange dreams. They are all quite funny and just makes me shake my head. For instance one dream about 2 years ago featured me, Jodie Meeks , Rajon Rondo, Big Bird, and my friend. Jodie Meeks was dressed up as a safari guide/crocodile hunter. Big Bird was himself and Rondo, Me, and my friend were wearing military gear. In the dream we were all Special forces. The dream took place at the South Corbin Kroger. My friends girlfriend was kidnapped by bad guys (terrorists i suppose). We went on some mission and saved her. All throughout the dream there was a voice guiding us. After we saved the girl, we reported to the pool hall across the street where Burt Reynolds awarded us with medals.

Here is the dream that really gets me. There is a girl I know but we never dated, talked a lot, or hung out. We were acquaintances but rarely ever saw each other. In the dream, I was shopping at Corbin Wal Mart Supercenter. For some reason the store closed even though it's a 24 hour store. Here I was locked in and just walking around trying to get out. I wind up back in the CD department and run into the girl I mentioned. We couldn't get out so we had to sleep in one of the tents they have set up on display and other stuff. There were no details in the dream that I can remember but apparently stuff happened or assume things happened.

Here comes the extremely weird part. The very next day, I was at JC Penney buying slacks for a job interview and I run into this girl as I'm leaving. We sat there and talked for a while because like I said, we rarely see each other and haven't talked in quite some time. We went on talking and she says "Don't be freaked out but it's funny we ran into each other because I had a dream about you last night." On the same exact night, both her and I had the EXACT same dream. This is the honest to God's truth and I've never figured that one out.

I don't buy into all of the weird stuff but I saw a show on dream analysis one night. Like I said, I don't really believe all of that junk but what they said made me think. They said that when we dream, our souls/inner beings/whatever leave our bodies and go into a different dimension that appear as familiar places (wal mart). It also related the inner being/soul thing to the hard twitches people have before falling asleep. It said that when you twitch really hard, it is actually your inner being being pulled back to your body because you are not sleeping as hard as it feels.

I used to have a reoccurring dream that started when I was in high school. I was a very simple dream. It was of a girl sitting down. That was all it was. I couldn't see her face but I could see the cloths she was wearing.

Well, after I first met my wife and she gave me several pictures of her. I was looking through them and to my surprise one of the pictures was exactly like the dream. I haven't had the dream since I saw the picture.

I don't have the exact same dream. But for a VERY long time I have had variations of a dream where I suddenly lose all of my teeth.
I have that dream also.. Over the years I've meet several people that have that same re-occurring dream.. Someone told me the dream has a particular meaning but I've forgot what it was. I'll look it up and let you know...

I have had the dream about being back in college and never having been in the class and having to take the final.

Also had the dream about the Madison Indiana bridge. I am always trying to cross it but I have to crawl across it so I wont fall in the water. Many times when I am either headed to or leaving this bar right on the other side of it. It is the same bar every single time, but in reality there is no bar at this location.

The weirdest one was one time I died and was on my way to heaven and when I hit the ceiling I couldn't go any farther.:isurrender:

Most likely the bridge signifies change and the steepness would imply a drastic or resisted change. The city most likely implies exposing yourself to the scrutiny of the masses.

Very interesting stuff. So basically, I thought that song was about me? :p
:scared: So you're saying I'm stubborn and I run naked through large crowds.

Does anyone have reoccurring dreams. I'll probably just confirm, what a lot of you already knew and say "maybe I'll losing my mind" but I have this dream constantly.

The weird thing is, I lack the ability to separate it from reality. I've had this dream/memory for so long, that I honestly can't tell you if it was ever real or just a dream.

I'm driving thru a city, having to go up a steep bridge and down the other side, which terrifies me. I get lost several times but always make it to the destination. I always have on the same clothes, colors appear the same and the time period is early '80's.

Anyone else have reoccurring dreams, or know why I have just this one.

:idunno:

I would tell you that something happened in the 80's that really changed the course of your life. It sounds as though that you might have made some wrong decisions, or, something went wrong, however, it all turned out alright. If you were to see me on this, I would have you do some "homework" on thinking back to the 80's and recalling some things that might have made you feel so very guilty...like maybe a lie, or a bad decision, or a breakup, death, etc...anything that really troubled you in that time line. When you gave me the list on our next meeting, I would then talk with you about each item that you put in your list.

I would say that you might be in some stress that you are aware or unaware about right now. This stress is bringing about memories of the 80's time line.

These types of dreams are something I like to call "true dreams". They can really be bothersome.
