Who's the favorite to win the All "A"?

Featured Replies

I think the winner of the LCA-Bardstown game will make the finals from the top of the bracket. This is Bardstown's fourth straight trip and they have a championship and a finals finish and have played very well in Richmond.

Doesn't Bardstown return evryone from last year's team? I agree, think they will come from the top.

Don't underestimate Hazard. They've been there before!

I've not underestimated Hazard, I have much respect for them and I do think they are capable of winning the All A but I think that Elliott County is the favorite to win it all.

It would not be a HUGE upset if Shelby Valley won.

They will be a tough matchup for Elliot

I hope your right but with all the press and talk Elliott has received it seems they are a lock to win it. If you don't believe it just ask the computer generated polls that have them, along with Scott Co., as best in the state by a wider margin than they should be considering that the #1 team in the human voted polls (Holmes) beat Scott Co. already and avenged their only loss with a 18 point win. The point I'm trying to make I just don't know if the computer generated polls are as accurate as they should be, if so Elliott cuts down the nets!

words were backwards

EC is by far the team to beat in the tournament. If somebody were to knock them off, it would be a huge upset. Not trying to put down Shelby or Hazard. But all everyone has been talking about this year is EC, and for good reason. They are a very solid ball club and everyone in their community is excited at this opportunity. However, how many times does the favorite actually win the tournament???[/QUOTE]

Not as often as you might think! Elliott has the team to win it all but things don't always work out like they should!! There is a little luck or blessing for any team to win 4 in a row in a tourney!!! It has been my experience that in tourney's for some reason you can throw ranking's, record's, and all that out the window!!!! You always see where some lower tier team beats a top notch team and then gets hammered the very next game!!!!! ANYTHING can happen!!!!!! With all that garbage stated......I am going to hope that Elliott win's it all!!!!!!!!!!:jump:

Key for EC is shooting %. Their loss to Cedar Hills they shot 31% and in the OT win over Anderson they shot 36%. When they shoot over 40% they are hard to beat. If they shoot 50% then is almost impossible. Only exception was Southside which they won by 9 on 38% shooting, but that was offset with 12-31 treys made for 38.7% shooting.

I know it's a different team, but Elliott County is making their seventh appearance in the state All "A" tournament and they have never won a game in Richmond. I'd expect that to change, but you never know.

Look out for Henry County, they are riding a lucky streak. Also, they are unbeatable if Shawn Knollman is officiating their game.

Give Knollman a break everybody has a bad night!!! :D

You can not officiate a game from your region in a state tourney. Common sense.

GatorFan, it's called sarcasm.

Without a doubt Elliott is the favorite and will win the All A State.

I am with you baseball guy. I think NCC has what it takes to win this. They have just come together as of late. ( Early season injuries and a long football season.) I am glad to see them representing the 9th, they have more weapons to score with. ( M. Giesler, J. Geisler, Pangallo, or Conner.) You never know who is going to lead the scoring. From the post, it sounds like Elliott has already won. I hope the Breds get the chance to match up with them.

I'm going to go with Elliot but would not be surprised at all if Hazard or Shelby Valley upset them.

Most of the post picking Elliott were not from Elliott! I know 99% of them so I went through all the post and counted the Elliott people and 4 had them favored and 4 were uncertain but hope they win!! Elliott or NCC may not get past the first round!!! You never know in a tournament atmosphere!!!!!!!!!!
