January 15, 200917 yr Everyone is OK, crew did a great job...thank you LORD. Momma and myself are flying to Detroit on the same air company next Thursday, and coming back the next nite. :thumb: I'm sorry....not about the airline you're taking...about you having to go to Detroit.
January 15, 200917 yr Nobody has died in a US commercial plane crash since the crash at LEX in 2006. Yet we've had two crashes in the last month with no deaths. That is amazing.
January 15, 200917 yr I flew into LaGuardia a few months ago. It spooked me a lil, after you pass over the Statue of Liberty and start going down for landing you go right over the water and all of a sudden the runway appears.

I was just talking about that to a friend of mine. We flew in there about 4 weeks ago and I thought it was weird how all the sudden you are on the runway right after being over water lol. You are right there. The pilot made a great decision to land in the water. Saved a ton of lives.

Yep, I have flown there 2 times in my life and it is pretty cool to fly around Manhatten coming in and leaving but you definitely see the water at close range. The other place that it was scary like that was Jamaica.
January 16, 200917 yr I'm so glad everyone got out of the plane alive. I think the quick response from boats in the area helped make the evacuation successful. Boston is another airport that you fly over water before you see the runway.

January 16, 200917 yr Simply amazing, that part of the Hudson is reported to be 54' deep. Quite a spectacle to see all of those passengers standing on the wings. I found it interesting that 95% of all passengers survive airplane crashes.
January 16, 200917 yr Simply was an amaing job by the pilot in bringing that plane down, I just saw on Fox news that the pilot made sure that all passengers were out alive and then walked up and down the interior of the aircraft to make sure no one was left inside before he made his exit. This man is a hero in every sense of the word. There is no doubt that God had his hand in this and was watching out for and guiding all involved....passengers, crew, pilot and rescue workers to get all of these persons out safely.
