Freshman Tournaments

Featured Replies

Does anyone have any details on the 10th region freshman tourney (dates and location)? I know Campbell County plays the winner of Brossart/Scott on 2/5 for the 37th district championship. I am looking forward to seeing some of the other 10th region teams that I have been hearing about.
Each of the four 10th Region districts host a freshmen tournament, with the winners playing a four-team two-night "regional" tournament. The site of the "regional" tournament rotates on an annual basis to the site of that district's winner.

If it were to be the 38th District's turn to host the "regional" tournament, and Pendleton County were to win their district tournament, then PC would host the regional.

TBD... I'm pretty sure none of the district tourneys have been played.

Yes, I understand. But, which district is the host? The way it was explained to me is a particular district hosts, and the winner of that district is the host school.

38th District is Harrison, Pendleton, Nicholas, and Deming. Don't leave out the Thorobreds!

Of these, which has the best freshman team? I am trying to determine the likely location of the 10th region freshman tourney.

Sorry about that. I get the districts confused all the time.

Ashland has one that includes most of the 16th region (other) than Rose Hill, also some teams from the 15th region and a couple from Ohio and West Virginia. Usually a good tournament.

hmm... Pendleton, maybe? :idunno:

If they have one, keep us (me, specifically) posted on the dates and times.

The 13th has had one at Knox Central the last 2 or 3 years at least, I think I seen somewhere there will be another one there on Sat. Feb.7th.

That would require work so I doubt it will happen. Especially when they have the Invitational at CovCath which I hear is put on very well. Someone told me they turn out the lights and announce starting lineups and do it 1st class. Would be even nicer if the CovCath Radio guys did the games.

The CovCath internet crew broadcasts freshman tournament games played by CovCath. I am not sure if they covered the semi-final and final freshman tournament games that CovCath did not play in.

Maybe someone can talk them into broadcasting the Freshman finals and the JV finals this year. The JV finals is before the Freshman finals. This would be something special to the kids and fans. These guys (Cov. Cath. broadcasters) do a great job.

It is at Knox Central, but I think it's Feb. 14. Harlan County isn't competing, which disappoints me. I think they could have been one of the favorites.

The girls is Feb. 7 at Harlan County and Harlan.

You are right, it is the 14th, why would Harlan Co. not play it usually is a good event?
