Your in for the long hall. I would just suggest smaller portions right now then gradually change your diet would be the best way IMO.

Not going to be able to get my weight until tomorrow. Dont have a scale at the house and will get my weight at the gym tomorrow.

Anyone going to be posting pictures throughout the process?

I lost 60 lbs. last year from Jan 1 to May 1 and gained 60lbs. from May 1 to Jan 1. :irked: Losing is not the problem, it's keeping it off for me.

I bought the Biggest Loser book a couple of years ago, and it tells you how many calories that you can eat and loose weight, after loosing weight you go down to another set of calories, for instance if you weigh 300 lbs, you should start by eating 2,100 calories a day, you go to 290 then you go down to 2030 calories. I dug out the book again and that is where I'm starting. I noticed Kroger has it also.

That's my problem...and I think it is the majority of a couple other people's problem as well.

Mom55,

From my experience, to lose weight you need to lower the amount of calories you normally eat and add some cardio work to get your metabolism moving more even when you are resting. Doesn't have to be to strenuous, just more than what you usually do.

The books sounds interesting though.

Gonna try to cut down to 2000 calories a day, and add cardio.

I am gonna think about going to the gym in the morning.

Stick is 218. I'm not sure what's going to happen this first few months as I am starting muscle mass training and gradually building my way up on the treadmilll. Around March I hope to start losing as I'm going to do the P90X. Bottom line I hope to be around 190ish give or take 4 or 5 lbs this time next year and in as good of shape as I was when I played ball.

Best of luck to everybody. This is a good idea for support!

Anybody have any ideas for shin splints and a bad throwing shoulder (it is OK right now and has been better since I started warming up my rotator cuff)

But my goal is a lot larger than anyone that I've seen so far, it's very discouraging.
Don't be too sure about that. ;)

I have found that elliptical machines are much better for my shins than just running regularly outside or on a track.

Ditto. :D
