Dear KHSAA, WKU and the City of Bowling Green,

Featured Replies

as you begin your preparations for the football championships next December, please consider making the following changes to the way it was held in Louisville:

1.______________________

2.______________________

3.______________________

4.______________________

5.______________________

Let's hear it from the people that attended the championships in the Ville over the last couple of years. Do you have any positive suggestions to improve the championships? Try to be constructive and don't bother discussing the number of classes. That isn't going to change by next December.

A heated warehouse close to the field for tailgating.:D

Better traffic control...,, or just any at all would be great..

More time between games. Bell County did not get a normal warmup time, and I think it hurts play in early game. Also they were trying to celebrate and the officials were "come on let's go.....we got to clear the field...." to the players. Hardly any time to savor the moment for the kids. Boys came a long way, and a long season to get hurried off the field by security guards!!

If you want the football finals to be an event it has to be a 2, 2, and 2 format. BG needs to demand it, otherwise, people are going to zip in, and zip out.

3 and 3 is way too much football in a short period of time.

Finally, I don't want to hear any garbage about the supers not wanting to miss another day of school. If that is the case they need to trim back all the days they allow both the boys and the girls to miss for both the Sweet 16 and the All A.

I agree...3 games is tough...As far as school goes let them play Fri sat and Sun...Nothing like football on Sundays...:thumb:

I think the best thing about having the finals in Bowling Green will be that everybody in town will know they are hosting the state finals and make a big deal out of it.

In Louisville I think most folks drive by and wonder why the lights are on at Papa John's.

The worst about BG is the extra distance. (For some anyway)

Traffic is going to be a problem the closer you get to WKU. The stadium is right on campus and there aren't many roads in.

That would have to be looked at.

If I'm WKU I have as many WKU students involved as possible in order to represent the school and be a recruiting aid.

Tailgating is going to be a problem.

Great stadium for the finals. Much more intimate than PJ.

Dont charge $6 for a Bar B Q sandwich. We are not at an NFL game.

Tailgating is going to be a problem.

Actually I think tailgating will be better. WKU has the entire field area across from the stadium to tailgate in. It makes for a much more "college" like environment to the games. PJ's is just kind of rag-tag all around the stadium. WKU offers a more condensed and concentrated area for tailgaters and they normally make this area accessable for games. I have yet to be at an event at Diddle or LT Smith where the traffic was bad...WKU does an excellent job with BGPD in keeping the flow in and out pretty constant.

Better atmosphere - less parking.

I'd be willing to bet parking, traffic, tailgaiting, game atmosphere, and community support will all be better in BG / WKU. I'll be shocked if it's not.

I'd be willing to bet those predicting gloom and doom attendance figures will be wrong.

I also agree that a change to a 2-2-2 format would make it a much better event.

Three games in one day is way too much for the casual fan. The weather on Saturday this year was nice but you can't expect good weather in December. I'm sure BG would love three days of revenue, but how much would the KHSAA have to pony up for an extra day of rent?

Put X & T in the 6A final and that attendance will pay for the extra day.

I agree! Louisville PJ security team were not hospitable to say the least...time on the field after the game with your son is priceless... win or lose.

Move the games to Thanksgiving weekend... have a game on Thursday, 2 on Friday and 3 on Saturday. That way the sup's cannot complain about the student body skipping school and the fans can deep fry the 'birds tailgating. Life does not get better than that...
