December 21, 200817 yr You're right, they should. That doesn't mean they aren't a Top 25 team. I said earlier in the season, everyone in the Top 10 deserves their rankings until they lose. Louisville has lost twice, they obviously don't deserve to be ranked #3. Not hard really... What are they currently ranked (before today)?
December 21, 200817 yr What are they currently ranked (before today)? 9, I think... Don't quote me on that.
December 21, 200817 yr 9, I think... Don't quote me on that. They should be in the 18-25 range, but they'll probably be around 15-18. Is that what you would think?

December 21, 200817 yr For those that expect UofL basketball to be on some sort of downward spiral... ERR, fail. Is it tournament time yet? Is it even conference play, yet? Does that mean it's not time to care, yet? No. But it's far from time to push the panic putton. Heck, I don't think it's time to enter the panic room in which the panic button is. In fact, I'm across town from the house in which the panic room that holds said panic button is. Pitino is a great coach and will teach this team how to play great basketball while, tired, broken, beaten, cold, hungry, wet, and/or smelly. I am going to have to disagree. I don't think it's full panic mode yet but they have 2 loses to non conf teams, and they play in the best conf (hands down). It's without a doubt time to panic. They can get hot in the tourny, but any team can say that. For a team that most people put in the top 3 (even after a loss to WKU) they look just mediocre and may be in trouble come conf schedule time.

I'll agree that it could be a LONG year in the Big East, but I still don't think it's time to panic.
December 21, 200817 yr I'll agree that it could be a LONG year in the Big East, but I still don't think it's time to panic. You know the team better than I do, but from an outsider looking in.....I would at least have a finger on the button.
December 21, 200817 yr Louisville is a really really good team. They are a top 5 team and I think they will be there or near there at the end of the year. Their guard play has not been consistent. Their shooting has not been consistent and Samuels is going to have freshman like nights. They will be fine. Just a bad bad scheduling situation today.
December 21, 200817 yr Debacle against Minnesota? Some debacle, they're 10-0... So is Illinois State.
December 21, 200817 yr This was awful, awful scheduling. UofL lacks leadership, they play completely unmotivated to majority of the time and Samuels still has a long way to go. I also really want to know what the deal is with Jennings right now, I'm assuming he's still hurt because Pitino would have to be crazy to not be getting him playing time right now just for game experience. With all that said, I'm not to worried about this team and this season is really reminding me of last season.
December 21, 200817 yr Rick Pitino would disagree with you. Called Tubby the best hire that he ever made. That would be over Billy D, Herb Sendek and any of his other assistant coaches. Rick Pitino hired Tubby as an assistant coach. I believe that he would be one of the best assistant coaches in the world.
December 21, 200817 yr Tubby was treated like crap by a big part of the fan base while at UK. He could do no right in many people's eyes. I think Tubby takes satisfaction in showing that he is a great coach, and that his Minnesota team will more than likely be ranked. It's a take that to all of the UK fans who continously blasted me. I agree. Tubby Smith is a man of high class, character, and oh............he continues to show what a great basketball coach he is. And by the way, I wish he had never left UK.
