I'm not sure that Fort Campbell is "private" in the same sense of "private" that NCC is.........but thanks for the congratulations.

I was reading this and though that I would put my two cents in..if they are even worth that. First, let me start out by calling them the RIGHT name..Newport Central Catholic..my son wrote on here about them and called them 'Newport' and I was amazed that everyone was so perturbed by calling them that. He is a kid, and you all knew what he was talking about, just as if you were to say that NCC and 'Fort' were playing. Everyone would know that the Fort you replied to was not Knox or the others because you knew who you were playing.

 

Secondly, I wanted to just blow this off..BUT...A group of people that WERE THERE and some that were ON THE FIELD, felt that it was the exact opposite. We were talking about the disrespect and the foul moths of NCC. I would never have said anything because players get all riled up all the time and what normally wouldn't have been said or done..well, it happens. However, the disrespect and the language by NCC was outrageous. Especially before they had scored. Then, talk about the jeering after the FALCONS fell behind. I am not saying that 'Fort'..you all know who I am talking about..were angels. But, wake up and smell the coffee on your own side. Even in the pre-game interview, the disrespect for the Falcons was very open. I know that NCC felt that we somehow won on a fluke last year and their Coach made that apparent in interviews that he had given. Look those up, I am not making it up. Coach Berner went out of his way to talk about the achievements of NCC and what a great game he expected it to be. What will it be this year? Falcons talked smack and it cost us the gain even though we got hit with a personal? The truth is, Coach Berner would jack them up if he felt they were being out of line because he holds them and himself to a great standard.

 

Like I said, I would never have mentioned this because it is unsportsmanlike of myself to be doing so..but I will not sit by and let people think that our group of kids are trashy or unprofessional in any way. All players talk a bit to some degree. So, you thought the Falcons were dirty? Well, there were quite a few others who saw it another way. Who is wrong or right? Probably seeing it two different ways and we will leave it at there. Look at any FC Supporter on here and you will not see anything offending the players personally like that. You can see that other schools have offered their opinions on the integrity of our school. We never said anything when we entered the game as the number one 2A school but were predicted to lose. That is unbelievable. The truth is that NCC and FC both deserved to be in that game. The truth is that the Number one team entering is still the number one team. It was a great job by both schools and an exciting one, just as it should have been for two outstanding competitors.

 

Congratualtions to the FC Falcons and don't let anyone try and bring you down!!! We know what you have done and what you have given up to accomplish your goals. Congratulations Coach Berner and the other Coaches for sacrificing so much time and giving so much to the kids. Those lessons will be kept with them for a lifetime.

I'm not sure that Fort Campbell is "private" in the same sense of "private" that NCC is.........but thanks for the congratulations.

In the prediction thread loveoffootball said that to be able to attend Ft Campbell High school the students have to have either a mother of father serving in the military with a Ft Campbell military unit . That is a very restrictive admissions policy if true . more restrictive that any other private school in the state. He also stated that a lot of the students and and I'm assuming that some of the football players are included in this statement come from other states besides Kentucky . Is this statement true . Does this make the team an all star team a term that has been applied to other private schools on this web site . Again Congrats on an impressive win .

Yeah, we are a real restrictive school. It is true, most of the kids are from out of Kentucky, alas, some were born out of the country!!!gasp. We are one of the only a few elusive private schools that give out 'team members' the opportunity to wake up in the morning and say "goodbye mom/dad, I will see you in a year or so." Unfortunately, we are one of the only 'private schools' that sometimes that parent doesn't make it back. So, yes, our admissions is restrictive. You have to live on post to attend, even if you are a service member family.

 

And, yes..the pot and the kettle. I am not sure which one I am. I think I like the kettle because it has a nice ring to it.

You should watch the replay and watch the NewCath players yelling at the officials after flags went against them on defense. Yelling at them. I heard a few obscenities thrown in there too. Fort Campbell was doing some woofing on the field -- most of it to each other and some directed to NCC. But NCC directed a lot of their woofing toward the officials as well as other players. I don't think either side was totally innocent, but it wasn't as one-sided as some would have you believe.

I am from NKy and have seen many teams play over the last few years and have seen NCC on several occassions. I know many Bred faithful like to think that play with class and character, hold themselves to a higher standard, and do not participate in the trash talk and extra-curriculars that come with it.

 

But they are wrong. NCC plays just on the fine line of rules like a lot of teams do. They taunt, trash talk, push, and a little more.

 

This is not to condemn NCC. A lot of players from teams all over the state do the same tactic because they feel that is the way football is supposed to be played. I disagree with that. Football can be played without the pushing, pointing, and taunts.

 

My point is that some teams followers think they dont do this; when indeed they do. I'm sure the Falcons contributed some themselves.

They have been raised to be good Christians and should not be using obscenities on the field. That's just my opinion. However, I'm not stupid and I know it goes on. (probably even by my own son!) So, basically........they are both in the wrong IMO.

I think this thread is probably getting out of hand and I would stay out of it but the above comment sums it up I think. You insinuate that any NCC behavior was out of retaliation and not instigation.

 

I don't know if it was or wasn't. But I know that it's hard to find any innocent teams out there as a whole and the sentence after that has a back handed sting that implies even more.

 

You're entitled to your opinion Bredsmom but coming from a really objective view of just reading the posts - you are wearing a tremendous filter on what you observe. :thumb:

These "dirty play" and "private school" allegations have no place in a congratulatory thread. It reflects badly on the BGP member AND his favorite team.

 

This is FOOTBALL. Rough play and high emotions are to be expected. Give the negativism a rest and celebrate a successful season - that's what it was for both teams !!
