NCC had 17 I think. Most of them were false starts. I think Ft. Campbell must have been emulating the snap count;)

Chris Collinsworth is a sexy man too! Ha ha! He was sure a fine receiver for the Bengals and he does a great job on NBC, NFL Network, and HBO. I saw Austin Collinsworth play agianst Hopkinsville this year and he was impressive to say the least. I am sure the Senior Collinsworth is quite proud of his son.

He needs to change his delivery if QB is in his future. He has the Vince Young throw, makes him 2 inches shorter than he really is and takes away from his accuracy. He's a great leader and a great athlete. I think that he'd make more of an impact at DB.

 

You are very observent and correct on the delivery. I hope with the proper coaching he is able to improve.

I saw him against Hoptown too... IMO he's no Mr. Football. He's a solid player, but he's not going to get the touches and stats to make him a serious candidate.

These "dirty play" and "private school" allegations have no place in a congratulatory thread. It reflects badly on the BGP member AND his favorite team.

 

This is FOOTBALL. Rough play and high emotions are to be expected. Give the negativism a rest and celebrate a successful season - that's what it was for both teams !!

I was watching objectively. Were you at the game? Could you hear the player screaming obscenities and insults? I won't call him out by number because he is just a high school player. But yes, there was A LOT of shoving and disrespect on that field yesterday. Not saying the refs "let" them get away with it. Actually, a lot of what they were doing was probably "legal". However, in my opinion (and it is just that), Ft. Campbell did not play with a lot of class. And in fairness, I wasn't happy that NCC responded to their antagonizing.

 

First of all, if you were sitting on one side or the other of PJS, you were not watching objectively. Secondly, I was at the game and sitting in the FIRST ROW. There is no way I could hear anything that was said by any of the players on the field, so I have a hard time believing you heard much of anything discernable. Finally, the Championship game is a battlefield. Those boys, all of them, NCC and Ft Campbell, left it all on the field Saturday. None of them, from either team would have it any other way. And if you think that nasty things are not said throughout the season by all teams somewhere along the line, you are living in a dream world. I don't like it any more than you do, but watch a professional game or two and tell me they don't trash talk.

Over and over again, the FC parents are praised for our players respectfulness: by officials, by coaches, by opposing fans. These boys are in my home every week and are good young men, not perfect, but they are nothing if not respectful and they are a first class group of young men led by a first class group of coaches.

 

The NCC 'Breds played their hearts out and had an awesome season. I was thrilled with the idea of a rematch this year and it was a nail-biter all the way through! The boys that played through their injuries are a testimony to how much this meant to them and how badly they wanted to win.

I get it because I've been through what many go through everyday at FC. I spent 5 years in the Marine Corp (that’s where the Semper Fi in my name comes from, it's the Marine Corp motto for "always faithful") and several months in Iraq and I know these players have so much more going on in their life than most high school kids could imagine, for them to be able to go out and play football is a testament to their strength. Take Josh Carter for instance not many people know that he lost his dad in the summer, for him to go out and play as hard and as classy as he does with a smile on his face makes me proud, not only as a former service member but as a fellow American... IMO it should make everyone proud what these young men have accomplished...

I wanted to let you and the folks from the other Falcon Territory, how much the FC Falcons appreciated your hospitality. Everyone from FC commented on the warm, friendly greetings received from the Monroe Cty fans. And the directions to the BBQ places were much appreciated and enjoyed by many!

You, my friend, are exactly right. Both teams played extremely well and left it all out on the field. Very antagonizing game to listen to......couldn't hear you shouting though.

This isn't Pro ball and these are minors. BTW, you didn't have to "hear" what was being said by the player that I will not mention when he repeatedly taunted the bench. He was FACING them and the COACHES and using arm gestures as well. I'm not saying that they didn't both lay it all on the field. But just as you say that I am biased.....pot/kettle.

 

I am not trying to give NCC a bad name OR Fort Campbell. They both played their hearts out but don't question NCC's sportsmanship first and not expect a response. I'm not referring to you, Falconmom. There was an initial post that did just that and it set me off. Just as those boys have been in your home, NCC players have been in my home often as well. I am sure that as young men they are all wonderful and well mannered. I'm just disappointed with some actions that were "left" on the field.

 

But........I thought we laid this aside to rest. That's all from me now.

I have an odd feeling that this thread will be closed soon if we can't act as mature fans and quit with the finger pointing regarding sportsmanship.

 

It would certainly be a shame for it to come to that as we're mostly adults here on the board and we're harshly discussing whether on team (or the other) played/acted fair on the football field. Kind of ironic huh?

 

When it's all said and done, and this isn't nose-rubbing, the game is over; what's done is done; the final score is in the books and the Fort Campbell Falcons are once again sitting on top of the 2A Class of Kentucky High School football.

:lol: Thats about right... He got the Breds players to run into each other. No shame in that though... I can't think of anyone that could've stopped him on a few of those runs (esp. the last TD).

 

Again... Great game by both teams! This was by far, IMO the best game of the finals.
