We played Monroe County at Tompkinsville in the Semi and it was a hard-hitting game, which included the MC senior being injured and on crutches by the end of the game. After the game, Josh Carter made a special trip to the Monroe end of the field to check his status. We spoke with many Monroe fans after the game and they wished us all well in the championship. Immediately following the game, I made multiple posts on BGP commenting on the great atmosphere in Tompkinsville and how I believe Coach Pettit deserved coach of the year honors.

Satuday at Papa John's, Monroe County had 15 or 20 players and parents sitting on the FC side of the field cheering for the FC Falcons. I think that gesture of support is a priceless testament to our shared love of the game and respect for each program.

 

Now, the day after NCC gets handed their BACK TO BACK loss in the championship we hear comments about Fort Campbell's sportsmanship. It is nothing but sour grapes and I am not going to get in the mud and roll around with this baseless argument.

 

You know what gets me is not everyone knows the story of FC, heck some don't even know FC is an actual Fort, it's those people that get on here and read about teams they don't get to see or hear much about. I would hate for those people to get on here and form an opinion about a team and community based on some disgruntled and sulking fan.

The 2A winner 2 years running, and 3/4 of the 2A semi-finalists this year (and 1/2 of the 3A semi-finalists) are from the much-maligned "old" 2A. It's pleasing to see my defense of the classification in past years has proven to be correct, both at the top and the class as a whole.

So not only are you saying Ft. Campbell played dirty, but your saying the refs let them get away with it? Classic...

Not having a dog in this fight, I can say FC is a real stand out group of kids, coaches, parents, and fans!!! The sportsmanship as a whole is to be admired, not ridiculed! This is the absolute best team in 2a football in the state of KY. I am proud that we had the chance not only to host this team but to be a part of their rise to the championship this year. Without a doubt in my heart this team not only plays fair but also shows great love and respect for the game. I followed the game with NCC and it was just a great game. Not to say that these kids don't get physical, but this is a contact sport! I am in no means calling anyone out or putting down NCC because obviously they also deserve to be there. This is another good program and they have showed this two years running. But you have to admit that FC is the best!! I am a Monroe County Falcon Fan through and through and I am proud that we got to meet some of the parents and players this year!!!!

I get it because I've been through what many go through everyday at FC. I spent 5 years in the Marine Corp (that’s where the Semper Fi in my name comes from, it's the Marine Corp motto for "always faithful") and several months in Iraq and I know these players have so much more going on in their life than most high school kids could imagine, for them to be able to go out and play football is a testament to their strength. Take Josh Carter for instance not many people know that he lost his dad in the summer, for him to go out and play as hard and as classy as he does with a smile on his face makes me proud, not only as a former service member but as a fellow American... IMO it should make everyone proud what these young men have accomplished...

Sounds like a date! I think the way the brackets work FC would be the home team next year. The standard Monroe County set for hosting the Semi-Final will be a tall order for us to match. All your kids that made it to Louisville for the championship will have added motivation as they hit the off season workouts and conditioning. They can taste it and now they know what it looks like!

The boys hit the weight room the monday after the loss to you guys. I have two sons , one a junior and the other a sophmore, they are gearing up for next season. My sophmore wants training aids for christmas...not psp's, clothes, ect...but things that are going to beef him up and make him quicker! he has the look of pure determination in his eyes and heart...playing Fc and meeting josh and the other players changed him this year. He will make it to the dance he stated!!! I am going to do everything I can as a parent to help, it is up to them now!!!

The player I was most impressed with was number #10 for New Cath. He caught passes, threw passes and played 1 play at QB and scored. If that didn't work he punted NCC out the whole they dug themselves with penalties. While on defense he played safety, linebacker, and corner. He lined up as a spy on #1 on plays,

When all else failed he picked up a backward pass and ran it for a touchdown.

Like Andrews for FT Campbell. Ben Parr was everywhere in the stat book.

He has been NCC best player all year. He also is one of the top 5 students in the school. There will be some happy coach who wins the prize in landing him at there school. I think he will go back to his natural position of QB in college,

I was also very impressed with Parr on both sides of the football. He made a TD-saving tackle from his back by tripping JD Ervin on a pass and later stepped in and ran for the TD while Kues was off the field. I was very impressed with Parr's play.

Is Parr's D1 talent?

I hope so too! We don't have any Backyard BBQ, but we have NYPD, (what I believe to be) the best pizza in town right outside one of the gates.

SuperFalcon, you need to settle down. She's just explaining her thoughts.

Although, I do agree with her on some things. On the field during the game, FC was a little more disrespectful. Sitting in the stands, I heard numerous comments that were being yelled at us by the FC players. On the other hand, after the game, it looked as if they were a completely different group, they seemed very respectful when both teams shook hands.

 

Congrats to FC on the win and also to the Breds on a amazing season.

 

I sat fairly close to the field and didn't hear much of anything.

You know, I was just expressing my thoughts and perceptions about the game the same way that others have about NCC. It doesn't matter. I know what I saw and heard. That's all I care about.
