I have repeatedly congratulated FC. Once again.....it began when NCC was questioned about their sportsmanship after the game. I'm not going to argue it any longer. I am entitled to my opinion and I am not here to change yours......

 

With that said....Congrats AGAIN to FC on the win. They definitely outplayed NCC.

Back to the game now that everyone got that out of their system. She's defending her son's team as are the Ft. C fans. It's water under the bridge. Is Andrews being recruited by anyone? I don't believe that he can play QB at the next level (his athletic ability is at worst high DI subdivision), but he'll make one heck of a receiver or DB.

Andrews likes Auburn. His family is from near there, although this was before the new coach was named. Vanderbilt and Western KY have shown a lot of interest and some feel like Appalachian State is a good fit because their system meshes well with his game at quarterback.

Congratulations To Fort Campbell and Newport Central Cath...On a great season...These Kids on both of these teams worked extremely hard to get to the finals...It is a shame that both teams can't be state champions but it doesn't work that way...So In my eyes the kids that start practicing back in 90 degree weather and don't quit are all champions...:thumb:

I'm not sure that Fort Campbell is "private" in the same sense of "private" that NCC is.........but thanks for the congratulations.

Ft Campbell is actually MORE private than any other school in the state with the exception of Ft Knox. You must live on post to play for the Falcons, even active duty military families that live off post can't send their kids to Ft Campbell schools.

If Antonio can grow a couple of inches, he can play the college game like Pat White at West Virginia. If he remains the same size, he can play DB in a lot of programs. I have seen him hit and he can bring it, most have just grown accustom to seeing him on the O side of the ball.

Thanks Falcon Backer, great article about a great kid and Family. He is so humble that if you would have attended the after-game meal with the Falcons immediately after the win on Saturday you would have found him sitting with the coaches young kids and just hanging out with them as sweet as could be. This is a star player that as a teenager, could have blown off these young kids and went and hung out with his friends. BUT that is not Josh. He was just as happy to talk to and entertain those young kids. His team friends admire him for that. He is a real role model!

Overall opinion on this game, the better team won. FC is one heck of a team, I give them props. And also to NCC who played a great game too. NCC would score, but of course FC would come right back with an answer.

I was excited to see that 38 yard field goal to give the Breds the lead. I just wish NCC coulda pulled it out. O well, good luck to both teams next year.

He needs to change his delivery if QB is in his future. He has the Vince Young throw, makes him 2 inches shorter than he really is and takes away from his accuracy. He's a great leader and a great athlete. I think that he'd make more of an impact at DB.

Great link! Being at the game I wasn't able to listen to the game and the tribute to Josh was very moving, what a great young man as all the Falcons are. We wish all the seniors the best for the future.

You missed a dandy of a game!

 

FC doesn't get near the media coverage as a lot of the teams in KY, so the Antonio Andrews story has been slow getting out there. He did make the AP All-State honorable mention team at QB, which is a start. He can do it all: run, throw, catch, even played defensive back today in some situations.

 

When FC was down 20 - 13, I know Antonio never flinched he has ice water in his veins. He truly believes that at any moment he can change the game. In the last scoring sequence he threw a 50 + yard pass for a winning TD which was called back by a penalty. What does he do the very next play? Does he get discouraged, shake his head at the ref, or yell at his teammate? No, Antonio catches a 50 + yard pass, jukes half the NCC team out of their shoes and wins the game.

 

I think he will be in the final mx for Mr. Football next year. I know the Collinsworth boy from Highlands is the sexy pick, but Antonio from the little 2A school at the Fort is for real!!
