I think T and X may be a bit better funded than the likes of Boone County.:lol:

 

 

I'm not going to argue, because I don't know the funding levels of Boone County at all, or Trinity in depth. But, I do know that more parents who send kids to Trinity are like me. And, that ain't rich. :lol:

This has nothing to do with sports. The schools are being built because the numbers of students is too big for the schools they have. You can say add on but in most cases that is much easier said than done for many reasons. You build schools so that kids have the best opportunity to a quality education, not to create an athletic powerhouse.

 

All I am saying is public school systems that cut their luck (students) have no beef when it comes to playing other larger schools.

 

In Boone County for example, there is plenty of room to add on to the Ryle campus. The school system didn't need to build Cooper and as the crow flies the schools can't be three miles apart.

Pretty sure they're better funded, Boone is spread pretty thin. They have what 4 high schools to fund. Not to mention all of the other schools.

Basketball is a very different than football in this regard. One player can make all the difference on a basketball team.

 

I do think that the enrollment certainly helps (more players, more competition, higher level of output by players from practice to practice, etc), but I certainly don't see it as the primary factor.

 

Ram no disrespect but you mean to tell me out of over 1400 boys T or X can field great football teams (about 30 keys players) but can't field a quality 12 man b-ball team. Sorry I am NOT buying it!!!

Well unfortunately most public schools in NKY, do not have the luxury of either A) allowing 1400 boys in their doors. or B) Not having to worry about enrollment because the area isn't set to grow much more, and they're an Independent school. :sssh:

Ryle is the main reason I didn't say that all of the schools can't add on. There are reasons they did things the way they did and they felt it was for the best.

I would only change a single word in the bolded statement. Substitute attract for make. There is no question, the top football players from all over Louisville make their way the the doorsteps of X and T. And why not? The best programs attract great players. By the time these great players get to X and T, all the coaches have to do is refine them, not remake them.

 

If T & X get all the best athletes then how come we don't win Baseball and Basketball? How come year in and year out we have a smaller number if any Division 1 Scholarship players.

Then why do X and T not dominate in basketball?
