December 9, 200817 yr NBC will keep Jay Leno five nights a week, but in prime time, competing not with David Letterman, but with shows like “CSI: Miami.” The network will announce Tuesday that Mr. Leno’s new show will appear at 10 o’clock each weeknight in a format similar to “The Tonight Show,” which he has hosted since 1993. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/12/09/business/media/09leno.html?_r=2&hp
December 9, 200817 yr You figured that Leno would stick around and wouldn't just leave easily. I like Conan, but the Tonight show takes a dive when he takes over. Not that it matters, I don't watch any of them anyway. If I had to pick one, it would be Craig Ferguson. Why did Craig Kilborn have to leave. : (
December 9, 200817 yr Economics weigh into this as well. I heard a guy say a traditional primetime drama at 10:00 costs around $15M per week while Jay's show will cost around $2M per week.

December 9, 200817 yr I like Conan. I didn't when he first came on TV, but I've grown to appreciate his comedy. But I would think he doesn't like this move by the network very much. It kinda makes him retain a status of 'Little Brother'.
December 9, 200817 yr So will Conan be on at the 11:30 time slot, and which show will be called the Tonight Show?

December 10, 200817 yr For some reason, I get a gut feeling that the ratings for both Leno and the Tonight show may suffer some from this.
