OJ Simpson Sentenced

Featured Replies

Roger Cossack, ESPN Legal Analyst, thinks he'll spend atleast 8-10 in prison. The majority of his counts are concurrent which means they run together at the same time. It's the consecutive ones that the judge really came down on him hard with. He got a minimum 15 with eligibilty of parole after 5 but the consecutive sentences are the reason he'll spend atleast 8-10. He could serve up to 23 years though.

From the ESPN link:

Simpson could serve up to 33 years, according to Elana Roberto, the judge's clerk.

One of the best College and NFL running backs of all-time, is tackled hard today. If you ask most young people about O.J., they just know him from his previous legal problems, or perhaps a movie/TV commercial.

He'll be wearing another number, which no one should ever strive to have. Should this affect his HOF status?

This was only the 1st time he held just a head!

Have you compared it to other sentences across American for the same crime?

I work for the Courts in Kentucky. I don't have the stats in my hand but I will get to work on it for you.

:DWas Jeff Ruby on the jury???

He did a crime and he needs to do the time, Period.:dancingpa

I can hardly imagine the he was ever "enjoying life". No matter the facade, him out golfing, womanizing, vacationing, I have to believe this guy has been haunted ever since that fateful night. So, there was never a moment that this guy could think, whew, I got away with it now I'll lay low. What happened with this latest incident was something that was bound to happen. In some sick, perverted, psychological way, he is going to be relieved to finally serve for what he did! When he said he was sorry for the robbery incident, he was really saying he was sorry for the murders.

Its called KARMA !!!!

Come on guys I listen to you all and have to shake my head. You all keep talking about what happened a long time ago but I wish you all would wake up and see that he acquitted for it. Leave it there because that is where it needs to stay. Now if this lady hammered him for that reason then what do you say for her. I agree that usually when someone gets in trouble for armed robbery they usually have the weapon in their hand. That one really confused me there.

But to think that someone can rob you of your stuff and you don't do anything about that is crazy. All of you all know that you would have wanted your stuff also. Now the stupid thing here was the gun but outside of that he had a legal right to go in there and get his stuff because he knew that it was there.

When you talk about karma remember karma doesn't just pertain to O.J. Karma pertains to all of us and some of us on here screaming karma beware because it can come and bite you also. I know there are skeletons in closets on here so just remember that. The only judge is the big man upstairs so whoever is worrying or talking about this or that get over it, let that man do it.

My problem is when the police and the legal system give people who are just as guilty a pass if they rat. That bothers me a lot because all that is saying get in trouble and then rat and everything is forgiven. Funny.

OJ detailed in his book how he killed Nicole and Ron that night. This was long overdue, if there is any real justice, someone will take him out before he even has a chance at parole or die of natural causes.

Since this is a family site, the only word I can think of to best describe him is scumbag.

I will say if that was anyone else they would not be doing as much time.

Sounds like the Judge got payback for the sytem.

To me it is wrong.

I hope he spends the rest of his life in prison.

:dancingpa This has been a long time in coming. He thought he was above the law after he got by with murder, but i wonder what hes thinking now. He didn't look his usual happy self in court.

I hope they put him in with all the other regular inmates!

The Lex H-L newspaper that he was sentenced to 33 years with the chance of parole after he spends 9 years in prison.

The former case against Simpson (of which imo a wrong verdict was given by the jury for reasons that had nothing to do with the proof offered by the prosecution), should not be used to determine justice rendered in this crime, but one must admit that he has to be one of the dumbest people on earth. I mean, to be able to slink through a double murder case and walk free should have made him keep the lowest profile of anyone on earth. But OJ did just the opposite. Instead of playing Howard Hughes in his later years, he was in the news all the time, and he seemed to like it. He got what he deserved in this one.

Besides that, Mr. Lincoln, how did you like the play?
