As luck would have it, I sat up and watched that entire game. I can still remember him having a 350-yard passing game and I felt like he didn't produce :lol: I always wanted Detmer to go for 600+ yards.

Although one could argue that his success came from being surrounded by plenty of talent, anybody who threw for over ten thousand yards in their college football tenure is pretty impressive IMO.
December 3, 200817 yr Matt Leinhart. All He did was win 2 National Championships as a starter and played for three. I believe he was something like 36-3 as a starter. On top of that a heisman, It is a no brainer in my book.
December 3, 200817 yr Hard to say who was the best, by my favorite was Montana. I was frustrated that ND would get behind, then bring him in to bring them back to win. This happened over and over, but they refused to start him. Once they finally did start him, he won the National Championship over Earl Campbell's Texas Longhorns (42-6 I think), the had the amazing come from behind win the next year in the Cotton Bowl. All Joe Montana knew was how to win. Maybe not the best college QB, but my favorite.
December 3, 200817 yr One of the most dominating performances I have ever seen was with Vince Young in the national title game. I wouldn't say he was the best. But I don't know if anyone is any better than he was on that night. He absolutely has to be the best college QB ever.
