December 1, 200817 yr I can't see Meyer going...it's not the Notre Dame job of old. Meaning that the admission standards are much tighter than when Sweet Lou was there. If they loosen those, the job, again, becomes the #1 job in America. When Weiss was hired, they tried to get Myer then, but he turned them down to go to Florida. I see no reason why he would now want to reverse course. He's a title contender every year, weather is better to recruit to, and Florida can pay him as much or more than Notre Dame.

Doesn't add up...No idea, I'm not the AD. It was indicated Weis left right after the USC game, to recruiting visits in California and Hawaii, plus other stops along the way.

Unless you believe Charlie wasnt already planning on staying on the coast then I don't see the significance of ESPN reporting today what was already said on Saturday. Me and thousands upon thousands could have told you they would not be meeting until Monday.

So, they told him before the game that he was done but they're letting him go out recruiting for a week to tell all of the recruits that he'll be back and putting off the meeting for 9 days (which seems to have been common knowledge). That's sounds dead on. Sure, they might be waiting for someone but if they're not sure if they can get that someone, why would they have said that before the last game?

I don't believe GT ever said he was dead on...He also told me awhile ago Urban Myer was in the mix before anyone had it.
December 2, 200817 yr Urban Meyer will not leave Florida. Unless Notre Dame lowers its entrance requirements my beloved Irish will stay average at best. If you can't get the athletes in the door, you can't win. Kids who can slip through the cracks at the public institutions have no shot at getting in Notre Dame. Watching Notre Dame on NBC is no worse than watching Louisville flop around on ESPN every Thursday and Friday night. Getting rid of Weis would be a huge mistake on Notre Dame's part. Hopefully the Irish can turn it around.
