I was right behind this one, I thought that was DaMan taking the picture but didn't want to say, are you "Daman"? Lokesak fumbled his first reception, and came close to fumbling this one.

 

Like Cooperstown stated, SK's defense was very good tonight, sure they gave up more than a few first downs but when push came to shove they showed up. A total 180 from the last game, for most of the game they were all over Alford when he attempted a pass. A great game by Matt Neil, he's the type you want to go to battle with, he doesn't lack emotion. Just holding the trophy brought a tear to my eye, over 1,000 players have worn the Simon Kenton uniform, and only one playoff victory prior to this season. The 2008 team has no idea how proud WE are of what YOU have done. Win or loss on Friday, what YOU have accomplished is something to be proud about. To this day, I have plenty of great tales to tell about my playing days, and I won all of 10 games as a varsity player. Nine wins, and the opportunity to play one of the most historic programs in the nation, and I just don't think you'll be ready, I know you will. Don't let history determine this next game, history is history. The foundation has been set, build on that foundation. The goals of this program have changed, went from being "I hope we don't lose by 50, to I think we can play with this team, to I know we can win. WE BELIEVE.

Very well said. It was an incredible win for the program. The coaches and players deserve all the credit in the world to take a fourth seed to the state semifinals. Unbelievable. The throwback to Simpson was a great call and the defense came out in the second half and dominated. Nice win boys! Next week can't get here soon enough.

SK's playing some darn good football, kudos to Marksberry, his staff and players. Don't pay attention to comments like this, you deserve to "celebrate" by working hard all week and getting a shot at a victory next Friday. Best of luck to you.

I'm not a parent, but I almost fainted after the first Carroll's first interception, hard to belive that yelling "get down" can actually wind a person is scary, makes you wonder how you actually once played. Plenty of spirit from more than a few alumni, WE are very proud of our Neers, and now we EXPECT to win.

 

 

Its hard to believe that you can say something about spirit. I watched only about a fourth of the stands stand and support their players. When the players were asking the stands to stand up and the same fans still would not get up. Unbelievable. We loved it when the three people finally went down to the front and got everyone to stand and cheer. Other than the one person that kept asking them to sit. Its hard to believe that you once played for this program and could not even stand and cheer them to victory.

I saw plenty of spirit from the parents, even from the grandparents that were able to make the game.

Where did that great pass rush come from? I saw SK vs Holmes early in the year and they did not have that type of pass rush. When it was come back time in the 4th quarter it was the incredible pass rush that kept Boone from throwing long enough to pick up a first down.

The interceptions did nt hurt either. The SK coaching staff deserves a lot of credit.

I truly expected that SK would win this game based on the adjustments that they have made to the team since the 1st game. This was no surprise

Congrats to SK on a hard fought and well deserved win! They played with more emotion and momentum in the 4th qtr. and it brought them the victory. Alford wasn't the QB as stated above. He was cleared to play yesterday but hadn't practiced with pads on for seven weeks.

Good run BC, nobody gave you a shot (including myself) at the beginning of the year, and to overcome all the injuries the last few weeks to get this far was honorable.

I agree, Sk deserves all the prise they are receiving on this victrory. I guess Boone lived by the run, and died by the run. Sk was well prepared, the players have all stepped up, and it showed in the ball game. CONGRADULATIONS!!!

I do feel EVERYONE was rooting for the Pioneers. Some just choose to do so from a seated position. However, the players have stated more than once that they really feed off the fans, and it can get their adrenaline running high. So with all the hard work being done by the coaching staff, the players and the SK football program; standing, cheering, and painting yourself blue is just a small token of THANKS that can be shown as a GROUP effort for all their hard work!
