I agree right after we lost to Boone 42-7 is when the complaining about coaching started, since then things turned around and now the fans are at fault! No matter what people think ALL Simon Kenton supporters were there cheering the team on, there were alot of Conner football players and coaches cheering us on to. Even Dixie Coach Spritzky was there watching, it nice having the extra support.

 

Agree, in the past there were some harsh words, and the crowd even seemed violent at times. However, comments were noted, changes made and wow look how far we've come. I don't think anyone is blaming the fans. Just hopefull that we can fill the stands at Louisville, show your support in anyway you chose and remain positive for our Simon Kenton football program no matter the outcome!

No one put fault on anyone. Wake up and read just wanting more support in the stands. The kids do notice and like it. If not they would not sit on the field look up at us and start to raise their hands at us. We never got violent. There was one gentelman that yelled some very bad things at the first boone game but his daughter is a cheerleader not a player. He was told last night how some of us felt about him. Lets all get together on this trip and cheer as loud as we can. The men deserve it and want it.

Single coverage on their WR's all night and they never tried to throw the ball deep once and by and large didn't really throw at all until the very end of the game when they had no choice. Their running game really wasn't effective after the first drive, but they never made an effort to do anything else. SK's passing game was exactly overwhelming either, outside the beautiful screen pass to Simpson.

1. Commit to an open offense and get away from one kid carrying 53 times in a game

 

or

 

2. Get a new head coach.

 

Coach Thompson's inability or lack of desire to fix the one major weakness preventing them from getting over the hump should be a concern.

Boone did not seem to have very good pass blocking either. I feel that would have been very helpful. The QB was getting run down all over the back field when they did try to pass.

I see no reason for Boone to get a new coach. The fact that he had a team that made this far is a reason for the admin. and fans and players to want to keep him around. They had a great season and played a tuff game Friday night. In that game either team could have won. Why would you want a new coach after a season like that? Kudos to Boone County players and coaches on a great season. Hold your heads high and be proud of where you are at.

No, not at all.

 

They should consider one of the two options I presented in order to fully achieve the success that they can. This is Owen Hauck with Shaun Alexander re-visited. Heck, you see it down there, K3, with Coach Matney and JC. If you're happy being known as a team that puts up big numbers rushing but can't get over the hump when the competition gets stiff then continue down the same path you've been on.

 

However, if you're not happy and you want to take advantage of a playmaker like Boone's Lokesak AND get to the semi's or the finals you HAVE to do one of the two things I suggested.

Does anyone have a real understanding of the level of interest in Miles Simpson? Which schools are legitimately interested? Any offers?

A good battle between these teams on the line of scrimmage, great game by Matt Neil! IMO Boone once again was way to conservative, it's that old Big Ten mentality, field position and clock management. Spalding and Loesak have to touch the ball more in a game like this! It was so refreshing to watch Boone defenders actually tackle Simpson by his legs, time, and time again! Unfortunately the one time they didn't he made them pay with a good stiff arm and long touchdown run! Good luck next week Pioneers!

If the SK offense that showed up to play Connor and the SK defense that showed up at Boone get together, anything is possible!

 

SK played against a much better defense this week at Boone, and they better not make the same mistake that Boone did, that is a more balanced offensive attack! It will be crucial that they can work in some kind of aerial game along with the defensive performance they executed against Boone! By the way, who is number 74 on SK'S line,does he have any offers?:thumb:
