I do feel EVERYONE was rooting for the Pioneers. Some just choose to do so from a seated position. However, the players have stated more than once that they really feed off the fans, and it can get their adrenaline running high. So with all the hard work being done by the coaching staff, the players and the SK football program; standing, cheering, and painting yourself blue is just a small token of THANKS that can be shown as a GROUP effort for all their hard work!

 

Its more than a small token it is a great thanks to the players and staff. They want people fired up and do very well indeed feed off of that. Some of us have been told that we are out of control. We are not , we are in control very well, we just love our players and team and show with great admiration how much we do love them. The rest act like there at the library reading books. This is the last year for the seniors and we want to help make it a season they will never forget. Next week everyone needs to get on their feet and yell and scream and be loud for the team. Quit making excuses and cheer them one loudly.

Congrats to those boys for a hell of a performance.

Hat's off, Pioneers! We were coming back from the HHS/JC game last night and the post-game show we were listening to faded just before it got to the 5A and 6A scores. I called home and had my daughter read me the scores from ICN6. Just before the call got dumped she said something about Simon Kenton. She said she heard me say "WHAT? Did you say Simon Kenton WON?" and the line went dead. Huge shocker, but I couldn't be happier for the SK kids and fans.:dancingpa:banana::ylsuper::thumb:

So, could this be the awakening of a sleeping giant? Now that they've tasted some of the fruits of success, will they become a steady presence in NKY 6A. I've been wondering when SK and Campbell would come around since the 70's. Looks like the Pioneers have arrived. What about you, Camels?:fire:

Its hard to believe that you can say something about spirit. I watched only about a fourth of the stands stand and support their players. When the players were asking the stands to stand up and the same fans still would not get up. Unbelievable. We loved it when the three people finally went down to the front and got everyone to stand and cheer. Other than the one person that kept asking them to sit. Its hard to believe that you once played for this program and could not even stand and cheer them to victory.

Most of us were, people in the stands well they weren't moving around as much as those of us on their feet so they were just trying to keep warm I can understand that.

 

Titan you should just be glad people showed, ten years ago SK couldn't even fill the stands unless we were playing Dixie. The team and the fans have come along way.

I may have mis read part of his post as you have mis read part of mine. Their were people telling them to sit down. These ar ethe people that I was referring to. After re reading his post I see he was saying he was winded and talking about himself playing. For this I apoligize. For the rest it is what it is. They would not stand and cheer and it is a shame that it took us gfoing down to the front row to get them to stand.

The largest group of cheers come from the parents of kids who dont even get to play and thats just sad. we really need to rally the troops for next week. The players love what we do for them and would love it even more if that crowd got bigger.

Dunno how likely that is. I'm gonna try to get a hold of some old players to make the trip but alot of us work Friday nights and that's a long drive.

People should be able to watch and cheer there child on any way they want, just because they don't stand doesn't mean they aren't supportive. I have never had one kid tell me after the game that people didn't stand during a game yelling and screaming, if the boy's on the field start noticing these things then there head isn't in the game. My son told me he hears his team mates calling out plays and coverages, coaches doing the same and the referee's whistle. He hears the crowd making alot of noise, but it comes from both sides of the field.

Where did that great pass rush come from? I saw SK vs Holmes early in the year and they did not have that type of pass rush. When it was come back time in the 4th quarter it was the incredible pass rush that kept Boone from throwing long enough to pick up a first down.

The interceptions did nt hurt either. The SK coaching staff deserves a lot of credit.

Pretty easy to do when you know BC isn't going to pass. Even if they did drop to pass, their line couldn't hold back SK rush. I almost felt bad for BC's QB in the 4'th quarter, poor guy had no help from his line. SK's D line did a great job of anchoring the line and scraping off of blocks, which is why BC had a few holding calls and blocks in the back, that's what happens when you get beat up front.

I agree right after we lost to Boone 42-7 is when the complaining about coaching started, since then things turned around and now the fans are at fault! No matter what people think ALL Simon Kenton supporters were there cheering the team on, there were alot of Conner football players and coaches cheering us on to. Even Dixie Coach Spritzky was there watching, it nice having the extra support.
