Beechwood is 1A and will, more the likely, stay there. Let's get this thread back on Beechwood and Frankfort. If you want to talk about the 1A class, please start another thread.

Concerning the Beechwood schedule, you have to play your district teams and Beechwood's district did seem to be down this year. However, Beechwood played these out of district games: 5A playoff team Dixie W 29-6; 2A playoff team Lloyd W 34-12; 5A playoff team Covington Catholic W 35-21; 2A playoff team Prestonsburg W 43-14 (leading 31-7 at half); 2A playoff team Holy Cross W 28-7 plus the NewCath loss. Two of those teams are still playing. That is probably the toughest 1A schedule in the state.

I think this game is closer than people think.

Beechwood wins in the end.

I would be interested in knowing how Frankfort's team has changed since last year. I know they lost their quarterback which had to hurt. Who has stepped up from the ranks to make a difference this year?

I would be surprised that Coach Rash doesn't have the team focused. You still have to play the game, but I don't like making excuses before a game starts. This team has been there and just like HHS, they know how to prepare for these type games. You usally don't see teams that have long standing playoff experience overlook teams once they get to the 3rd round.

I doubt the feeling on this board relates to the feeling in the locker rooms and practice fields. I'm sure the Tigers will be focused.

 

I think the Frankfort folks are biting our tongues because we know Beechwood should be favored and don't want to gorge ourselves on humble pie after the game, should we lose.

 

Keri Metcalfe has done a great job filling in for E.J. Fields at quarterback this year. Frankfort has developed a decent enough passing game. Dwight Tillman has impressed as a deep threat receiver. And by now, we've all heard about Quan Weaver running the ball.

I am curious as to how you think BW had a soft schedule. Are you saying that Lloyd, NCC, CovCath, Holy Cross, and Dixie are soft?

Frankfort has to air it out this game, no questions if not they will not walk away with the W. Just a train of thought.

Can Beechwood stop #9 Quan Weaver? That is going to be a tough job. Quan is the real deal.

 

 

Well if you are talking like this then I am sure Frankfort should win the state championship, wasnt EJ Fields suppose to be the real deal?? Look what Beechwood did to him (no disrepect to him). To beat Beechwood, the team has to play well executed, pass, run, block, they have to play 48 minutes of real football, not the run and gun every play that works against teams like Dayton, Garrad Co., and Gallitan Co.

I guess you could say I'm biting my tongue only because these are two great teams and I could brag all day about how Quan is this and Dwight is that but all the talking is done time to put up or shut up and I how Frankfort is ready to come out Swinging.:fight::fight::fight:

I can assure you that the Beechwood team has respect for Frankfort and so do their fans. They all expect Frankfort to be the toughest opponent they have faced all year besides NewCath.
