The team mom I have never meet but hear she is a great lady and does more than

anyother parent ,but she thinks she is above the coach .It is her way or no way

the coach would like to make changes to pre-game meals etc, he does not want the

kids at school 4 to 5 hours before the game just laying around . This team mom wants to

serve at the time and type of meal she chooses and when the coach asked about changes got mad an went to the AD , who has the backbone of a jellyfish

If the former peewee coach knew half of want he thinks he does he be the next Marvin Lewis. This guy will be the one yelling the loudness about the defense coach only being a peewee coach but he won one super bowl therefore he should be the next head coach

All four of these people need to work with the coach to make the team and program better or walk away and keep their mouths closed

Totally agree! The coach runs the team and if he wants spagetti at 5PM don't bring in steaks at 3:30. That is just disrespectful. Most everything should be ran by the coach before anything is planned for the week's game.

 

What time should the boys eat? What should they eat? How much and what not.

 

I know some of us think we are the next Vince Lombardi trust me I have been there I question plays and question other things that is human nature but our coach is still the coach win or lose and I definately do not want the job he has. I hear people in the stands every Friday night and I know if I was on the sidelines I probably could not handle all the Vinces in the stands.

 

Best thing is to keep it to yourself if it is negative because it will hurt someone around you. This past week for us a prime example we had a 20 point lead with 7 minutes to go and I still do not know what happened but we give up 4 TDs in the last 7 minutes and lose the game.

 

Everybody disappointed dejected and upset especially on our own field people saying if we had kicked a FG early on 4th and long or maybe we kick the XP points instead of going for 2, why were we passing the ball up 20 all these things I heard leaving the field that night and some were also thoughts of mine but instead of bashing the coach and players for mistakes I questioned some plays with friends and parents in the parking lot and it was over. When the boys came out I told some of them it is just one game forget it and get ready for next week.

 

I know the coaches and most of the players probably looked back and said had we done this or had we done that but hind sight is 20/20 and you have to move on. Our coach probably felt bad enough about the lose and he did not need to have anyone question anything and to my knowledge nobody didn't because he is still our coach and regardless if he makes mistakes and we lose a game or we win a state title some day he is still our coach regardless and you always have to take the good with the bad and I wouldn't want my son playing for anyone else.

 

The moral of the story is not for a coach but for all those naysayers and people being talked about keep your mouths shut and coordinate things with the coach and it all goes great win or lose. And trust me you are not going to be the next Vince Lombardi and neither am I so be positive for the players and the coaches it will go a long way.

What would/should a head coach do when the team mom is openly bashing the head coach to the players and won't send out positive e-mails-only negative ones, the webcast play by play guy constantly has a negative tone in his webcasts, a parent and former peewee coach takes his assessment of the coaching staff to the AD and constantly spreads uninformed negative propaganda, and a former equipment guy openly bashed the head coach on the sideline of a game??????????

 

Three of the four no longer have kids at the school, but their mission in life is to destroy the head coach due to disliking him from the beginning, holding a grudge against him because his son got beat out at a position in previous years, and the fourth one is mad because he was told he was not welcome in the program because he tried to fire a new head jr. high coach with no authority to so.

 

For the record, this particular program is a predominate program in NKY and has won a state championship in 06 (CCH) and EVERYTHING stated above is TRUE. The main reason for the 4 individuals to bash Brossart and the current coaching staff are purely for selfish reasons.

 

TRUTH:

 

1. The "Team Mom" bashes Brossart to all whom ever will listen that he is running this program into the ground. Also extremely upset her son did not get the DC job when Brossart was 1st hired.

 

2. The support guy was kicked off the sideline during the Highlands game because he was bashing Brossart and coaching staff in front of players and other support staff.

 

3. Broadcast guy has been upset seen Brossart and coaching staff benched his son at the QB position.

 

4. One of the boosters "Big Boys" wanted to be Brossart's assist HC but thankfully Brossart said "NO". Since then this individual has stated negative things about Brossart and staff to whomever will listen. He was also the one who fired the Jr. High coach without authority.

 

These 4 individuals are in positions to do great things for CCH but have chosen another path because Brossart did not make decisions in their favor. It has not been about the x's and o's but purely selfish agendas.......

Coaches don't get into the profession for praise. They are usually passionate about the Sport and have something to offer, to student-athletes. If everyone likes you, then you're probably not being effective, in all aspects of evaluations, competitiveness and playing time.

I can assure you that if people tried that stuff at Highlands, Mueller would pop a cork. Dale is a control freak. Everything, and I mean everything goes his way or not at all. Heck, we made the mistake of trying to make some changes a couple of years ago to the football banquet (like shortening it:D) and there was no way that was going to happen because Dale didn't want it to happen. End of story.

 

Sounds like the Admin involved here better decide if they want a head coach in charge of the program or a head coach to take directions from supporters. If the latter, you can't then hold the coach responsible for what happens involving the team both on and off the field.

First and foremost do not penalize the kids of the people who are so negatively vocal against the coaches and the program.

 

Parents do not always care about the program but about playing time for their kids, but they try and mask it as caring. Mostly parents hold grudges and NEVER forget their child being slighted, or at least that perception.

 

Any coach worth his salt, (and with a job) is doing his best to put the best team on the field possible. When "parent supporters" are openly dessenting it makes it tough for the kids to buy into what the coaches are selling.

 

I would take the "Team Mom" aside and thank her for her past services and support and tell her to hit the road. The radio guy is a little tougher, but the others would also be distanced from the program as much as possible.

 

AND the next thing I would do right after the season is put out my resume and look for another job, with support like that and parents trying to run the program, it will never be successful. Better to be an assistant somewhere that wants to win rather a head coach where you are never going to get where you want to be.

Get outta there ASAP. Good coaches are needed all over the state. Life is to short to have to deal with all that. God bless you.:madman:

I remember that...and all problems kind of faded after that. These types of things happen at all programs, in one form or another. This has to be nipped right now, or the program will simply spiral into non-existence.

1. The team mom is Shelia Roedig and she is upset Coach Brossart didn't hire her son. Besides, how the heck can she be a Team Mom if she doesn't have any kids on the team? How about team "Control Freak."

 

2. The former support guy is Randy "Hillbilly Jim" Ellison. Why anyone would listen to two words he says is beyond me.

 

3. The broadcast guy is Mark Wehry. Wehry was out of control last year when his kid was knocked out of the QB competition. He is better this year but he still is the "Great Infidel."

 

4. The booster is Pee Wee Reese and he did try to take over the junior high team and was exiled by Coach Brossart. I agree with the poster above, if he knew half of what he thinks he does we could call him "Pee Wee Lewis."

BTW, there was no need to put names, and name calling. That just shows me your credibility in this matter. I guess you must be working for Brossart? The team mom wasn't going to do it this year but PARENTS asked her to because they appreciate what she and she loves the kids. Without the hill billy and the infidel there wouldn't have been a complete makeover of the entire weight room, locker room, and coaches office that Brossart loves so much.

You know it just seems strange that so many of the ones who are backing Coach Brossart while they have been on BGP's for years and years and years never have posted in years and years and years. Doesn't that strike anyone else as strange? Now I do understand that there are those who never post but the first post since Aug 08 for Tom Petty? For Big Easy it is only the 70th post since 2004? Just seems strange that like the Old Colonel who has been a member since 01 to post out of the blue and now with only three post to his log?

 

What happened to any of those true Blue with a spirit that will not die, CovCath/BGP's members congratulating CovCath in 06 when they beat HHS in the last three seconds, or when CovCath won the State title? Why not congrats the team on a thread when the Basketball team went to the state in 06 or the big last second win over NCC just this year? Why not a good luck to the Baseball team prior to the game with NCC for this years ninth region finals! Even Mr reality who one day breaks down a football team like a pro then the next post says he really is only a casual fan who only understand football because of his son?

 

Oh yes they are huge big CovCath fans alright..... of Brossart!!!!
