You need to check out some of Leatherneck's posts; he knows the importance of keeping everyone believing.

Many parents and players????? Most of the parents and players I have talked to totally support Coach Brossart, so again factually incorret!!!

 

Players in the all-star game?????? From what I have read, most of them missed several practices along the way, so what do they have to complain about?????? Where is that from a player on BGP???? Again factually incorrect!!

 

I totally agree with your last statement, but those sabotaging are preventing that from happening!!!

Advice: Welcome to High School football at 95% of the places in the state. The other 5% is lucky. Let it go or it will eat you up inside, coach hard, look in the mirror and if you like what you see, keep working hard.

I think it is time for the John L Smith "boat" talk. He was having dissension his first year at U of L and he told them, either you're in the boat rowing the same way or out of the boat. Successful coaches are detail freaks and see things the way they want it to be. I see some one on one boat meetings in CCH future. You know, I can see where the people involved felt they were enpowered to make the decisions they made, maybe they made that decision before in previous coaching regimes. But it sounds like some got some sour grapes and human nature thought they should share their thoughts and comments. Kind of unfortunate but it comes with the territory. All people can be replaced in time.

Parents need to understand that these types of rants do nothing but hurt team unity. I've seen plenty of parents market their displeasure, and nothing good every comes from it. I think some parents have a hard time admitting that their team, and/or kids, just aren't very good. Tough situation to deal with nonetheless.

Wow as an outsider and obviously not a fan of the Colonels , I have to say that this is one of the most toxic threads I have ever read through . This discussion can only hurt a program that has been sucessful in the past and will again be sucessful . Be patient people .:sssh:

I am also an outsider, with no ties to the program. What a mess! How sad for everyone! As a former player (20+ years ago), some of my greatest memories were looking into the stands and seeing my mother among all of the other fans. Then there was dad on the sidelines standing with all of the other players fathers. I felt so much love and support. We were all a team. Players, coaches, cheerleaders, parents, and fans. I just wonder what kind of memories will your players carry with all of that trouble? Adults, think about what an impact you make on these kids. After all, it is all about the kids. :thumb:

For the record, this particular program is a predominate program in NKY and has won a state championship in 06 (CCH) and EVERYTHING stated above is TRUE. The main reason for the 4 individuals to bash Brossart and the current coaching staff are purely for selfish reasons.

 

TRUTH:

 

1. The "Team Mom" bashes Brossart to all whom ever will listen that he is running this program into the ground. Also extremely upset her son did not get the DC job when Brossart was 1st hired.

 

2. The support guy was kicked off the sideline during the Highlands game because he was bashing Brossart and coaching staff in front of players and other support staff.

 

3. Broadcast guy has been upset seen Brossart and coaching staff benched his son at the QB position.

 

4. One of the boosters "Big Boys" wanted to be Brossart assist HC but thankfully Brossart said "NO". Since then this individual has stated negative things about Brossart and staff to whomever will listen. He was also the one who fired the Jr. High coach without authority.

 

These 4 individuals are in positions to do great things for CCH but have chosen another path because Brossart did not make decisions in their favor. It has not been about the x's and o's but purely selfish agendas.......

Fact:

 

“I know that the broadcaster approached Coach Brossart at halftime of the NCC JV game to extend an olive branch and to congratulate him on the previous night’s victory over NCC game at Newport. Coach Brossart refused to shake his hand and then told him to “get off of MY football field."

 

Does this sound like a coach who is trying to work with everyone?

 

Fact:

 

Brossart has not one single time came to the broadcaster to try to work out any problem that he might have with him, while as I said above the broadcaster has gone to Brossart!

 

Seems strange that if the broadcaster is such a cancer you would think the Coach would talk to him and try to work things out.....

 

BTW no other coach at CovCath has any problem with the broadcaster, not the Basketball Coaches, not the Soccer Coaches, not the Baseball coaches!

I have no dog in this fight but let me say this, To call out a team mom, parent, broadcaster, and or anyone else, who is volunteering time, work, and dedication, for nothing but the joy of helping THE KIDS, is laughable. If you don't like what they are doing, then throw in your time to help the program as you see fit until then, mind your peace. It's one thing to blast coaches, players, parents, alum, or fans for what they do on the field, but to call out volunteers, and make personally attacks on them on a internet website, well thats just low class. If you have a problem with what they are doing, take it up with them, but don't blast them on an internet board.

Let it go people. Sounds like too much in-fighting. Sounds like from these posts that everyone knows who 'everyone' is. You all need to take your spat off BGP....theoldguy included. The same exact could be said when criticizing coaches.(Brossart) Take it up with them. Publicly doing some of the things in this thread are below low class.

The deal is, that all you have to do is ask coaches everywhere, they all deal with Parents trying to undermine them because their "little Johnnie" is not getting more time, more carries, more, more, more. Parents are ruining sports for kids of all ages. They are all smarter, their kids are better than anybody elses. Keep it up....maybe we can run off every coach in the state!

As a few others have said I have no dog in this fight, not being associated with CCH in any way I know none of these people, but I will say as a parent with a child that played High School sports this sort of thing goes on in all programs. Usually the ones doing most of the complaining are ones that never do anything to help the booster club or the program. As a fan I will be the first to tell you it is easy to call a play after the whistle has blown or the game is over, and although tha coaches may know football they cannot see the future, so they do not have the benefit of knowing the result before they make the call. To those of you who want to continue to bash the coaches and players or booster club members, first of all keep your dirty laundry internal discuss your concerns in a closed meeting with the coaching staff and the AD, if you are not willing to do that or help out and move the program in a positive direction then keep your mouth shut, because the ones you hurt are the ones on the field each week. High School sports are about the kids not the parents or fans.
