I can't speak for everyone; but this is one HHS fan who takes no pleasure in the very public implosion going on at CCH this season. It's sad to see a team's fans attacking each other and their own coach in public. It does nothing but further poison a progeam for which those on all sides have a great passion.

 

The team's troubles can be redressed; but not when everyone involved is pulling in different directions. I don't know if it boils down to the need for a new coach or not; but hopefully, the coaches, players, parents and fans find some common ground on which to re-establish the team's rich football tradition.

As far as the rest of this things in this thread, just beat Highlands and they will work themselves out.

 

If anything it's good to see the passion is still there. Now it just has to be positively channeled.

 

Highlands is a well-oiled machine that has been winning since the beginning of time that is in the middle of a run of great athletes.

 

CCH is in a transition from a very talented offensive mind that had great, great talent but didn't work that hard to a new coach who really knows the game as well but is working with a group that is learning how to work hard and stand firm to tough times.

 

I really don't understand all the things I hear about those around the program and all the things they are saying....what do they expect to happen to the program with the way they are acting-it just tells me they REALLY don't care about the program-they are just out to get Brossart no matter what the cost.

 

It is going to take a concerted effort by EVERYONE to return to the level of Highlands- some of these nincompoops think a few changes to Xs and Os and they will beat Highlands-it takes talent which CCH will always have(albeit at different levels), hard work, unity, and loyalty by all involved to get Highlands.

 

Im just tired of Coach Brossart not getting a fair shake.

Wow like Sticky said. This is the better than my wife's stories on in the afternoon. I think it is sad that Coach Brossart has to deal with these issues. I understand parents getting emotional and caring for a program but they make themselves look like buffoons when they allow their dirty laundry to be hung out like this.

 

If Coach Brossart is not doing the job that the AD expects then let the AD deal with him. None of those other "Mafia" members are qualified nor do they have the right to bash him, especially publicly or to their kids. That is a definite no-no.

 

I have learned that you really have to keep your mouth shut when something doesnt go the way you were hoping it would go for your son because 9 out of 10 times you cant do anything about it anyway. All you do is dig a deeper hole for you and little johnny and you make yourself look like a donkey to everyone out there. I dont even know those people and they may be very nice folks who care but to be quite honest, if I believe that they are trying to ruin Coach Brossart's livelihood then I dont have much respect for them.

 

I cant wait to tune in later for the action.

I feel sorry for one person here, and one person only....the CCH player. He has to be so beaten down by all this garbage, but still goes out & works hard every week. He has only one high school football experience in his lifetime, and a bunch of people who should theoretically know better, are ruining it. It's really amazing to watch.

How about we put names with the Park Hills Mafia.

 

1. The team mom is Shelia Roedig and she is upset Coach Brossart didn't hire her son. Besides, how the heck can she be a Team Mom if she doesn't have any kids on the team? How about team "Control Freak."

 

2. The former support guy is Randy "Hillbilly Jim" Ellison. Why anyone would listen to two words he says is beyond me.

 

3. The broadcast guy is Mark Wehry. Wehry was out of control last year when his kid was knocked out of the QB competition. He is better this year but he still is the "Great Infidel."

 

4. The booster is Pee Wee Reese and he did try to take over the junior high team and was exiled by Coach Brossart. I agree with the poster above, if he knew half of what he thinks he does we could call him "Pee Wee Lewis."

 

5. And the one you forgot YepItsMe is the AD, Mike Guidugli. Guidugli lets all of these cancers operate and it is a shame because he is to blame more than anyone for not supporting his football coach. Guidugli is truly the Ringmaster of the Park Hills Mafia.

 

WOW! This is nothing short of a Witch Hunt. Actually it is much like another NKY power that likes to keep its dirty laundry clean and quiet. There is no secret that this goes on at every school and people in their communities could fill in their own candidates for each dubious title.

This type of stuff happens all over the state when teams are struggling. Most of the time people on the outside say coaches and players should just work harder. Is that fair? This type of thing usually doesn't happen in a private school situation. When it happens in a school most people just assume its bad football not internal strife.

I am not as close to CovCath athletics as I used to be, but Mark Wehry, Sheila Roedig, and Mr. Ellison, and Mr. Guiduigli (I am unfamiliar with Reese) have all done great things for CovCath athletics, and, if you all choose to bring up their negatives, you must mention their positives. They have sacrificed a lot for the school, its teams, and its athletes, and I believe that needs to be mentioned.

A coach should not have to deal with out of control parents. If they have any credibility they would approch the coach with their problem in a civil manner and stop running around spreading rumors. One person hears something and before it has left the stadium the story takes on a new life of its own. I have no respect for people who try to tear down a coach. In 99% of all cases the coach is playing the best players. He is the one held accountable if they win or lose. I have been around coaches who could not stand the parent but played the kid anyways beacause he was the best at his position. That is what coaches do! The worst part of the whole deal is that the wife and kids are the ones who hear all the negative things about their husband and dad coming from the stands.:mad:

Lets remember that only one of the adults is a current parent with a son on the team-the others have no business even being involved-let a current parent do those jobs and enjoy the experience with their son even more-IT IS TIME TO LET GO AND MOVE ON TO THE NEXT STAGE IN LIFE. I went through it- it is hard when your son graduates from high school but I followed him into college and his interests there.

From reading the posts in this thread, it's no secret that many parents and players dislike the coach at CCH and even other kids who played for him in the all star game last year made it public of their feelings toward him.

 

But it's not right to make all of that public and criticize a coach or his players. These young men work their tails off every day and we all (fans, parents, coaches) have to remember they are only HIGH SCHOOL KIDS. They are going to make mistakes. You can't put all of the blame on the parents, coaches, or players though. It's a complete effort by all three which contribute to a successful program.

I have no problem with people helping with a program after their kids move on but they

take a back seat to the current parents . CovCath has a great group of people helping out

for many years after the kids are gone and 99% due there jobs and keep their comments to themself or to friends.The main problem we are talking about involves 2

people , what one did on the sidelines of Highlands game and other trying to move in on another man's coaching job is beyond complaining about the head coach

One should never be permitted to be involved with program again, he almost got into it with a person who for 30 years has done more the football program than any person

You do not talk about the coach during the game on the sidelines in ear shot of everyone

The other person needs to be just a parent peroid

Lets everyone be at the game on Saturday and support the team

Ah how soon they forget. The really, really sad part about this completely unecessary public debaccle is that when you boil it down it is all about a few egos. It's about people putting themselves before the kids. Because I've yet to meet the coach that does this for the money. What a sad state of affairs CovCath football (or even general football) has become when it becomes more important to win and stroke the egos of influential boosters than to teach young men the RIGHT way, even if it may not be what they'd hoped it would be.

 

I would imagine that the constant coaching turnover that is happening in Park Hills won't be a good thing for the program in the long run. And public stories like these will certainly take the luster off an already difficult position to fill.

 

Stand behind your team. Support your kids. And just imagine what those that mumble under their breath or publicly air dirty laundry say about YOU when your not there.

Many parents and players????? Most of the parents and players I have talked to totally support Coach Brossart, so again factually incorret!!!

 

Players in the all-star game?????? From what I have read, most of them missed several practices along the way, so what do they have to complain about?????? Where is that from a player on BGP???? Again factually incorrect!!
