John Petett -Monroe County (2a). Let the debates begin!!

My Personal Top 5 Picks:

Billy Martin- North Oldham; Has led young program to an undefeated record and district title and highest ranking in school history.

Larry French- Boyle County; After Boyle has been in a major funk by their own standards, French has the Rebels undefeated and as a front runner for the 4A Crown.

Kenan McWhorter- Berea; Berea may very well be the worst team in the State of Kentucky over the past decade, they are currently 7-1 and winning games convincingly.

Randy Vanderhoof- Raceland; Raceland has positioned themselves as one of the top 2 teams in 1A and a viable state title contender with their undefeated start and wins over LCA and 5A Rival Ashland

Steve Jewell- Corbin; despite graduating the school's all-time leading passer Clint Cashen and bing forced to completely overhaul the offense, Corbin is undefeated and a contender for the 2A Title.

Dale Mueller-Fort Thomas Highlands.

I would also like to put a plug in for Charlie Barr the Frosh Coach at Highlands. That man has won more games that any coach I know over the last 30 years. He is also a scout for the Varsity. I know that they are Freshmen and may not count to many, but he has had numerous undefeated seasons and is a key part to why Highlands Football is a has won all these state titles.

Jim Black-Whitley County

After going 2-8 and 2-9 his first two years, he has turned the program around and currently sits at 7-1 and his team has captured the district Champioinship. His offense is clicking and his defense has held opponents to 16 points a game, after giving up over 30 a game last year.

One of the best turnarounds in the state.

I say Billy Martin at North Oldham. 8-0

Larry French @ Boyle County. He came into Boyle this year and completely got his players to buy into his system. We've beaten every team that we lost to last season, but more importantly, he took alot of kids walking the halls of BCHS and got them back onto the field and playing in unity. Great Job coach French!

That is impressive. He should be a candidate, at least.

Wayne MILLS KCHS

I agree. Great job by the entire coaching staff this season.

I have to say Larry French because I am a biased Boyle County fan, but also because all we fans here at Boyle County wanted was a step in the right direction. None of us expected Boyle County to be undefeated with home field advantage through the first 3 rounds. We didn't know what to expect, we just wanted to be better and more competitive. Larry French has taken Boyle County football beyond that and has restored the excitement here in Boyle County that was missing during the Pardue tenure. For that I say at the very least he should be coach of the year in 4A.

Not only did Coach French get the players to buy into his system. He also got the entire Rebel Nation to come on board. Anyone who is active in any program will agree that the hardest part can be getting the adults to buy in.French has been successful every where he has coached. Who would expect anything different here at Boyle. I am one parent that is very proud my son has Coach Larry French as his role model.:thumb:
