Everybody that I've seen so far, in this forum among some others, is clamoring for Aaron Boyd to get some playing time. No offense but he has got to put time into practice and then he will start seeing the field.

 

There is a reason he hasn't gotten any playing time because he is getting beat out by the other players in practice. Rich Brooks has always said and stood by that how well you do in practice will determine your playing and time and whether you become a starter.

 

I know Boyd was hampered by mono early before the season began so that may be a reason why he hasn't gotten to play much. As a person who has had mono before, after I recovered I found out that I had lost much of my stamina and found myself much more tired. Aaron lost all his stamina that he had worked for in preseason so he has had to gain all that back. He may not have the stamina currently to play an entire college football game. The game is much faster paced and requires conditioning for you to make it all the way through. If Boyd is as talented as most saw him to be he will see playing time. Everybody just needs to be patient and let things play out on their own.

And as much as this hurts me to say, I think Arkansas wins this game.

UKs O has got to prove to me that they can score before I start to take them seriously. UKs D has proved they can hang with the big boys but without the O we aren't going anywhere no matter how good our D is.

Is Arkansas that much worse than South Carolina? I just don't see this UK offense getting much better in a weeks time while losing 2 of it's best recievers...

 

The offense of Kentucky won't be better, but Arkansas' defense is horrible.

Below is part of an article in paper today about Boyd. Sounds like he is practicing better. I am of the Allen Iverson school of thougt anyway "I mean we are talking about PRACTICE."

One player who will see extended time is freshman Aaron Boyd, who has played sparingly in four games this season. UK Coach Rich Brooks was critical of Boyd for his practice habits a couple of weeks ago, but the Henry Clay product has apparently been doing better. And, as offensive coordinator Joker Phillips noted, what do they have to lose?

 

 

"He's made some progress and is starting to practice harder," Phillips said. "And also, why not (play Boyd)? He still continues to make mistakes, but he's catching the football so why not try him?"

 

 

Brooks said at his Monday press conference that Boyd doesn't possess blazing speed and often has trouble separating from defenders unless he goes 100 percent all the time. But Boyd had four passes thrown his way this season, and he's caught all four of them.

 

 

"That's the one thing he does," Brooks said. "When he's had opportunities to make catches, he's made them, and that can carry you a long way in our receiving corps."

 

 

Boyd said his 6-foot-3, 210-pound frame can help him establish separation.

 

 

"Sometimes you have to throw a DB off you, or maybe a guy's trying to put his hands on you, and you throw them off and mess up his whole form, which allows you to break free on him," Boyd said. "Speed is a big factor, but knowing how to use your body and hands is also a big factor."

South Carolina is not a bad football team, especially on defense. Their real strength lies in their pass defense and secondary. (As an aside I don't why we kept throwing the ball). They also got a lift by getting All SEC WR McKinney back at full strength and by playing Garcia at QB. Arkansas is terrible. That doesn't mean we will win but Arkansas is just plain bad.

Thats good to hear, I hope he is able to make the most of this and keep practicing the way he is now.

If UK is that big of a favorite then my money is on Arkansas covering right now.

I think UK wins 17-14

If UK had a consistent offense then UK should/would walk through this game. I am going with UK 17 to Arkansas 10

Bobby will pound them like he always does.

I'll be pulling for Kentucky.

For me, this game is the same as the Alabama and USC game. I have ZERO confidence in our offense being able to put up more than 10 points against any SEC team. If our defense is able to score a few touchdowns for us, we win. If not, we lose.

If Cobb starts at QB UK wins comfortably.

If Cobb doesn’t UK wins by 3.

 

Cobb will be playing WR...They can't afford to play him at QB.

This is the game UK needs to win if they have any chance on making a 3rd trip to a Bowl in last three years. The Coaches and players know this and I think they will come up with a big win. UK 31, Ark. 13.

Which means absolutely nothing. Auburn is probably the worst team in the SEC at this point in time.

 

Wouldn't say the worst, but they are pretty close..
