What tournaments are teams playing in for U14? Didn't Northern have a tournament last year in Feb/March?

KY Elite 13U will be playing for the first time this weekend, also at MidAmerica. I believe the Legends are there as well.

 

That will make for one good 13U tourney. We will start to see how good each team really is.

How did the 13U Nuggets do this weekend at the BCI tourney? This is a group of Highlands 7th graders including 6th grader Bo Hoge. This is a solid group with nice size and hustling guards who can shoot it. Hergott is a horse on the blocks and developing into a nice big man. Any information on the Tourney would be nice. thanks

What happened to Hoge playing with Omega? Did that experiment already go by the wayside? Who are the 6th graders playing with or did they get left behind? Who is on this Nuggets team and who are they coached by?

I was out there this weekend and it when I saw them warming up it looked like Merrill was going to coach them, but we were playing at the same time on another floor so I am not sure.

Hoge I think is playing with them because it is essentially the 7th grade HMS top players and him. Personally I think he will gain more from playing up. The tourney was a 6/7th combined tourney and I believe they won it. Tom Buten coaches the team, Merrill might help out but not sure. Hoge might just be playing with Omego in AAU sanctioned tourneys and with Nuggets in BCI events.

Looks like BCI and Sports Plus both pulling in teams this weekend for their tournaments. Should be a good weekend of hoops in the NKY/Cincy area.

The new Kentucky Elite 13 Under team won in their debut game in Louisville, today winning 59 to 32. :thumb:

NKY Wildcats defeated the Cincy Knights today at the BCI. They play at 3:00 tomorrow.

Hopefully the Nuggets can get plenty of games against the 3 you mentioned. This would be very good competition for them.

KY Elite beat Illinois-Missouri Elite - who had 3-4 kids from last years national champion Arkansas Mutangs and lost earlier this year to Houston Select by 1 - by 24 in their first ever game. The front line was 6-7 (Belter from Dorton), 6-4 (Johnson from Sayre) and Portwood. Johnson may or may not end up Elite all the way (his dad lives in NY and played nationals with the Gauchos last year). The entire team was pretty impressive. They won their second game by 32. Johnson had 14 and 9 in the first game and Snoop Johnson from LTMS was in double figures both games.
