This game should be a good test of Highlands' defense. I don't think that HHS' pass defense has been tested too much so far, especially when considering that the team's biggest competition to-date (Colerain) didn't pass much at all. The combination of CCH's experienced, athletic QB, their big O-line, their talented receiving corps and talented RB, it should be a test of HHS' all-around defensive abilities.

 

I think that CCH will score some points in this game, and with CCH's defense being a bit shaky I expect a higher-scoring game overall than something like 28-14 (last year's regular season score).

Robinson is every bit as dangerous as Van Sant.

 

Negative. Both very athletic but PVS can make plays happen after he catches the ball. Michael Robinson is not far behind but he's definitely the #2 weapon (and still holder of "greatest high school catch I've ever seen").

While we obviously want a W, if its 28-14 we feel pretty good about the rematch (of course we completely forget last year's rematch after losing 28-14).

There is certainly a fine line there and its not limited to the Colonels. I fully understand your son's perspective as I have experienced that as well (but also experienced the exact opposite with another).

 

Its certainly not for everyone especially at certain programs with high expectations.

Who has improved more since their first game? I understand that CovCath maybe had more room for improvement. I can't see the Colonels being down the entire year----too good a program.

I'm not sure who had more room. HHS didn't look like world beaters against Ryle and CCH obviously stunk it up against a strong OH team.

 

The key will be the run D for CCH. If they can't stop the run, ballgame and it won't be close. If they can and they can force Tony G into mid-range throws (not his strong suit IMO) they will have a chance. However, the corners are going to have to play better than they did against NC's ONE deep threat. That concerns me greatly as HHS has more than one.

 

My biggest concern/fear is a very fast start with big plays by HHS. I'm not sure if CCH could recover mentally.

Let's just hope that Fort Thomas' finest are able to work along with the volunteers working the game to keep the peace and that there are no shenanigans on or off the field. I hope to see a great game and have not really been let down yet by Cov Cath during a regular season game. They always seem to be able to get amped up for the Birds. I don't think that the Colonels fan earlier used our famed "cake eaters" nickname in a complimentary fashion. To him, I am sorry that you feel that way and I hope that you learn to someday get over your harsh feelings for all of us fine Fort Thomasonians. The wording came from the Cov. Cath. end of the statement. Of course all stadiums have a capacity number. Highlands is no different. You may not find a seat but you will certainly find standing room. I wouldn't think they would sell more tickets than what their capacity is.

 

I certainly wouldn't worry. It has never happened in a Birds vs. Colonels game.

Always been that way at HHS. If full, all fans will be left outside, regardless of affiliation.

 

Fire marshal doesn't care if you have 50 presale tickets. If it's full, it's full...
