I just wonder if Coach Brossart understands that (meaning the Team from Ft. Thomas game) is how he and his team will be judged for the year? It doesn't matter if he goes undefeated against the rest of NKy or if he even beats Cin Elder, or Lou St. X, the season in the eye's of the faithful is a success, only if you beat The Team from Ft. Thomas!

 

Now understand, some years you know you just don't have a chance to win (this isn't one of those years) but at least you need to make a good showing in those years.

 

This is a rivalry game that has seen some mighty strange things happen over the years! As jbwill 2 so eloquently wrote "For those BGP'ers reading this thread who are not well-versed in the history of this rivalry, please know that on numerous occasions the team predicted to win did not win the game."

Oh, I'm certain that Brossart understands the significance of the game (and you are too, so I'm not sure why you'd question whether he does). I look for it to be another hard fought game, with turnovers determining the outcome. Brossart will throw everything including the kitchen sink against the Birds, while Dale's been known to pull a few cards out from under his sleeve in this game. Its CovCath Week! :banana:

And another thing, I hate to be the person that rains on the parade before it barely starts, but I hope the fans and posters keep things in perspective this week and after the game Friday night: its just a game played by young kids. The players and the coaches are going to do their best and will leave everything they have on the field, so win, lose or draw Friday night, lets keep that in mind. Players, coaches and the refs will do what they can to win. Some body is going to lose, yet the sun will come up Saturday morning and things will be just fine. :thumb:

Just wondering why Insight via (ICN6) decided to not show the CovCath vs. The Team from Ft. Thomas game Friday night? From what I can tell they are showing the Holmes vs Scott game! While that game will be good one, I really don't understand why the biggest rivalry game in NKy gets no coverage? Strange indeed!

 

I just can't believe the Holmes vs. Scott game will be viewed (meaning better ratings) by more fans than the CovCath vs. The Team from Ft. Thomas would! :confused:

And yes I want to win this game and State as much as the next person, but as long as the kids and coaches commit themselves to doing their best, that's all we should ask for. Maybe when you were a senior you beat CovCath (what year did you play?), so its hard to keep it in perspective. I know that was the case with me until 06.

I see an offensive game that's very similar to what we saw this past Friday night. I do think CovCath may have a better chance to score on HHS but not much.

I lost to Cov-Cath my senior year up 20-7 with 7 min to go!!!:mad: Actually the sun was down when we were playing them with no lights. But your right, it hurts for a couple of days but you have to move on and look toward the future.(Beating Cov-Cath)
