September 12, 200818 yr I started riding the bus when gas got to $1.95. :lol: It's really funny that now so many people are starting to do the same, but gas prices had to get consistently toward the $4.00 mark before they did. :lol:I guess that makes you just half as tolerant as they are ... :lol:

September 12, 200818 yr Gas has been $3.54 for about a week in Henderson and tonight I notice one station has raised to $3.69. I guess all will be that price in the morning. I too have been asking myself for two weeks why gas hasn't dropped way more. They sure waste time raising it. I stand corrected...$3.85 this morning.

September 12, 200818 yr What is a little surprising is that historically wholesale gasoline vs. what it cost at the pump is about a 60 to 70 cent difference. So if the wholesale prices are about $3.00 prices at the pump should be about $3.60 to $3.70. Same with heating oil. Retail diesel is about 60 to 70 cents more expensive than wholesale. The price of crude does effect these commodities, because heating oil and gasoline are made from crude. Wholesale gasoline settled yesterday at $2.75, so prices at the pump are currently about 100 cents higher (that is a little inflated right now). Diesel is close to the same, $2.92 for wholesale diesel and it is about 100 cents higher at the pump. IMO, you will see both of these come back toward that 60 to 70 difference in the the next several weeks.

I've read a couple of articles and see nothing about a price freeze or even a cap, just enhanced investigative powers. Is this a political move to prosecute a few of the worst offenders while letting the others go? kentucky.com

September 13, 200818 yr So if the dollar strengthens some then the price would decrease.... That is one of the primary reasons for the decrease in cost of Oil, but gasoline is currently getting hit by the hurricanes near the refineries in and around the Gulf.
