$100.00 oil and $3.90 Gas

Featured Replies

Oil closed at 100.00 today and gas is still almost at 4.00 dollars. All thanks to the Hurricane gouge excuse, there is no reason gas should not be under 3.25 with 100.00 oil. Long live the gouge....

Ain't America GREAT!?!!?!?!

Not much you can do about it. Thats why I drive a motorcycle now. :D

Crude has lost approximately 33% of value in the last 2 months. Gas, if you took away about 33% of its cost, should only be about $2.80 a gallon right now.

I have heard rumors that there could be a super spike in gas prices that we have never seen before.. I am hearing gas whole sales prices went up to over 4.00. I would fill up while you can.

Speculation in the market has gone beyond rational levels. Totally ridiculous.

I think I head something about OPEC cutting the production down today. If that's the case, I'd say you are right.

Well the story on that is.. they were "over-producing" at about 500k barrels a day previously, from what they were supposed to be producing, so now they are going to trim it down to where they "should" be. So this isn't a true reduction yet. They won't have a true reduction till it goes under 85.00 dollars. Almost all OPEC nations need an 80-90 dollar oil range.. to meet there new budgets.

Gas has been $3.54 for about a week in Henderson and tonight I notice one station has raised to $3.69. I guess all will be that price in the morning.

I too have been asking myself for two weeks why gas hasn't dropped way more. They sure waste time raising it.

I started riding the bus when gas got to $1.95. It's really funny that now so many people are starting to do the same, but gas prices had to get consistently toward the $4.00 mark before they did.

I heard one economist explaining that although oil went to about 150/barrel, the price per gallon did not match this percentage-wise, so the refiners are still trying to recoup the $$$ they spent buying inflated oil. Take it for what it's worth, but he was saying that percentage-wise, the price of a gallon of gas should have gone to >$5.00 when oil was $150

At least the Saudis are on our side...

Seems to be hinting at a OPEC disbandment.

Saying the Saudi's are on our side is a reach...

Members of OPEC, specifically Iran and Venz want 100.00 oil the "cheap, lowest price."

Saudia Arabia wants it at around $85.00 oil.

You gotta remember that most OPEC countries need oil to be at least 80.00 dollars to meet there new budget requirements, you think they are going to get rich, then go back to being normal?

Almost all of the drop in oil prices we have seen was brought about by a stronger dollar.

Wasn't a weak dollar listed on here numerous times as the reason prices rocketed up???
