Doesn't matter what the fans think of the facilities. Evidently the powers that be thought they were good enough otherwise they wouldn't have signed the contract...period. I'm sure nobody in Russell or Ashland ever complains about the money they make off of the gate after playing Raceland.

 

If the opposing fans who always cry about playing at Raceland don't like it, then don't come to the game. Stay home & listen to it on your radio, or get to the game earlier. Otherwise, quit complaining. There are ALOT worse places to play. Besides, Raceland doesn't mind getting paid to travel to Ashland to beat the Tomcats or anyone else. the true fans are going to go because they support their team & love good football.

We had a great time! A wonderful atmosphere and everyone got along really well. And on top of that, it was a good ball game, and not just because we won. The only problem was some of the tacky signs some of the kids from Raceland had made.

What kind of speed does Ashland have at linebacker? These are the guys that will more than likely be resposible for Carver out of the backfield on pass plays. I didn't see much speed the other night. However, Mason was trying to run an offense way to advanced at this time of year for their new players.

 

I saw ... the first half of Ashland ... Neither team looked like a "hitting" team...so if Raceland can do some hitting early up front they can turn the tide in their favor.

 

 

 

... I don't think they (Ashland) have the speed on the line to get the blocking to the outside and second level to really use his (Carter) attributes...

I never said anything about small or weak.

Mason Co. had a very poor showing, so it was tough to gage alot of Ashland's players.

I think if they got enough speed to cover Carver out of the backfield it could really put a hurting on Raceland's O. He is the release valve for Boyles if pressure gets to him. I think you will see quite a bit of the 5 and 10 yd outs.

 

So what kind of speed does Ashland have at the LB positions? If they have good speed I think you will see quite a few sacks, as even Morgan Co. was getting a lot of pressure on him.

If noone is going to come to the game, then there would be no point in Russell playing Raceland. Its done strictly for the gate. Russell has nothing to prove by beating Raceland.

 

Well, then there's no reason to complain about having to come to Raceland & play then, is there? I'm glad they're playing, but Raceland doesn't need Russell on their schedule either (other than gate money). If they did then there wouldn't have been a 30-year gap between games.

By looking at all the new facilities Raceland has on its campus it looks like they have a little bigger budget than Russell has now.
