Ashland 11 – 11 record with 542 Total Points (25 point avg.) & 540 Total Points Allowed (25 point avg.)

 

As we already know, Raceland is undefeated against the Tomcats during this stretch. The combined score for both of these Ram victories is 44 to 36. Just as the seasonal averages of scoring puts Raceland ahead of Ashland by almost a touchdown, that same margin is what separates them when they go head to head.

 

Although it remains to be seen what the outcome will be for this particular 2008 match-up, Raceland wins if you consider the statistical data. I realize the game is won on the field and not on paper, but when you consider the recent records of these two programs along with the talent that Raceland has returning, the Rams are a solid favorite to win this upcoming ballgame.

I see that Raceland is also ahead in the poll at nearly 60% at the moment. I kind of like the underdog role for the Tomcats right now.

I can certainly relate to that and that is every day with me regardless of weather.:lol: I basically did the same last season when I reasearched and came up wth the Raceland/Russell all time series numbers. I don't think that I kept them on a file either and I am not going to fool ,with it again. I also remember when there was a thread discussing and asking people for a name to call the Raceland/Russell game/matchup. I posted "Rail Cities Bowl", that ended up what it was called/advertised as and the oldrambler got no credit :irked::lol:.

 

All of this means the exact same thing as the stats that you came up win....are correct but that and a buck will get you any one of several items on McDonalds dollar menu.

Raceland is no stranger to offensive firepower and this 2008 version of Ram Football has all the indicators that their reputation will be taken to even higher levels. An undefeated season for Raceland does not require an over active imagination to envision.

Hey Tiny. You are right Raceland is good, real good, this year - and Ashland could be a sleeper. It's hard to know what we have. The T-cats looked good against Mason Co. last Friday, but a lot of folks are not respecting that. We'll know more after we play Raceland. The 2008 Tomcats have a lot of proving to do.

 

Carter is in practice this week, we'll just have to wait and see if he can contribute anything other than drama and distractions.

The only record that matters right now though is 0-0, with 15 to go. I hope Raceland looks at this game as the first game and plays to win instead of playing like they already won, or the record will be 0-1.

HOWEVER....in this century, the series is tied at 2 - 2.

Sounds like the concensus in my household is to attend Russell/Greenup, so old dad went out today and bought a nifty little MP3/digital FM gadget so I might keep up with the progress via radio. If I knew that Greenup had a wireless connection close enough I'd just take this stinkin' laptop.

I would think that Ashland would not worry about the Raceland game that much considering they hold such a commanding lead in the series. The last two wins by Raceland were not exactly dominating performances.

How tough is it not to watch your old Rams play? I mean I know your a Devil now, but knowing that theTomcat/Rams game has become an exciting beginning to area football has to be hard to miss????
