August 11, 200818 yr Tough loss for Hoff in the last swimming event. She lost by a fingernail. That was heartbreaking--she lost in the very last half-meter. I was hoping she could hold off and beat the Brit. At least the French-Italian love triangle babes didn't make it on the stand!:lol:

I caught the tail end of a discussion on that from the NBC commentators, so I didn't get all the details on this... Is that an olympic rule that all athletes have to be at least 16? Or, is that China's rule? Or, is it just the rule for gymnastics? Just asking because during the parade of nations I seem to remember that they showed a platform diver (from which country, I cannot recall) that was only fourteen. So, what's the deal? August 11, 200818 yr I was thinking about this year's Team USA basketball team and comparing it to teams from the past. It is amazing to think about the original Dream Team. They would beat this year's team by 30 points. That team consisted of: Earvin "Magic" Johnson, Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, Patrick Ewing, David Robinson, John Stockton, Karl Malone, Clyde Drexler, Chris Mullin, Scottie Pippen, Charles Barkley and Christian Laettner.
