If Hamilton was a Red....

Featured Replies

Would they be 52-67? I know we got Volquez, and he has 13 wins, and the other Reds starters are a combined 23-48. The Reds have scored 34 runs in August, and they have gave up 67. Hamilton's stats, .303 avg, 28 HR, 111 RBI, and 77 runs scored. How much would Hamilton have helped this team who is struggling to produce runs? I know from the pitching standpoint it's hard to say, because if Hamilton was still a Red, then we wouldn't have Volquez's 13 wins. He had pitched 138.0 innings. Harang, who is 3-12, has only pitched 127.0 innings. Without Volquez the other Reds starters pitch more innings, would Arroyo, Harang, and Cueto, who would have had to pitch more innings, had more wins? Arroyo has caught fire winning 6 of his last 8, could he have more wins? The same for the rest of the guys? I understand Volquez is the best pitcher on the team hands down, but I am just saying. What do you think?

It's pretty bad now but I agree GT it would be worse. Imagine throwing Homer out there for 138.0 innings.

He would've been the fifth left handed outfielder to join the mix. Hamilton is great, so is Volquez. The problem is the team was never put together well. That's why Jock is blowing it up.

If Hamilton was a Red....

He would have been traded in the last few days for a couple of AA prospects and a used

athletic supporter. :D

I think it's pretty clear that all of the Reds are up on the auction block at low, low

prices. Had Hamilton had the year here in Cincy that he's having in Texas, he would have

likely been given up for less than Volquez.

And to answer the question specifically, no the Reds would not have a better record. It

all starts with pitching. If you ain't got it, you ain't gonna win it.

What?:confused::lol:

If Hamilton was a Red, Baker would probably be platooning him if he wasn't on the DL. Thank goodness for Hamilton that he is not a Red this year.

The Reds would have been the Reds. Still losing. Still bad.

Hamilton did well to get out of Cincinnati, and I'd hate to imagine this staff without Voltron. Belisle would probably still be going out every 5 days for a shellacking

Can you lead the league in RBIs if you were to be a leadoff hitter?

He's saying we always trade away our players for much less than they are worth (prospects)....it gets old. Which is why it was better to trade then for Volquez.

How many 20 game winners did the Big Red Machine have? How about the 90 Reds how many 20 game winners did they have ? Pitching is important but the team with the most runs wins.

That is pretty much what I was going to post.
