I think it's pretty clear that all of the Reds are up on the auction block at low, low prices. Had Hamilton had the year here in Cincy that he's having in Texas, he would have likely been given up for less than Volquez. Bull. The Reds are ridding themselves of big-salary players that don't figure in the plans for next year and beyond. If Hamilton was still in the fold, he would be one of the guys around which they were building the team.

As far as the 75-76 Reds, they may not of had any 20 game winners, but they had six or seven pitchers with double digit wins. And their Team ERA was always around 3.5 or lower. The 1990 Reds had a Team ERA of 3.39. Today, the Reds Team ERA is 4.65.

Thank goodness for Hamilton that he is not a Red this year. :lol::lol: You nailed it :thumb:! We got Volquez, a very good pither that was desperately needed so I am not all that upset. I wish that we still had Hamilton but the trade has worked for both teams so I am not all that upset. I am glad to see Hamilton doing so well, he really deserves it, just a great comeback/sucsesss story.

I do maintain, however, that they would be worse and that IF they traded Hamilton, they wouldn't get a Volquez.
